what mobo are you going to use?

wouldn't it be better to get a core i5 2300/2400?

    ---------- Post added at 18:03 ---------- Previous post was at 18:01 ----------

also you could get a phenom II x4 955, it would be a drop in replacement on your current motherboard

You'll be fine with your current PSU, but for heavy overclocks, you'll need a good 600W+ PSU.

    Im using coolermaster 600w

    with i5 2400
moreover with ATI 4870(its too much power hungry)
So i think u will be fine...
People should stop blaming games for allegedly *copying* each other: "oh this game is Skyrim copy", "this game is WoW knock off", "this game is just another DMC" - enough!

On this rate every 3rd person action will be God of War, every 3rd p shooter Gears, every 1st will be CoD.. it's ridiculous. They are called genres people! And if you look carefully you'll see allot more than mimicry out there.

Not if you are getting a whole new PC. Its only good if you buy if to upgrade your existing processor only, ie, no new MOBO.

Why would you not want an i5 ? BD single threaded performance is even worse than Phenom-II, there's no point in getting one if you'll use it for gaming.

Ok then why not consider Intel's new Ivy Bridge Processors, waiting for like 2-3 months won't hurt.

IB might end up being very expensive. Intel barely has competition for their current SB. SBE and IB will remain untouched for quite a while. Or if we are lucky and if Intel wants to completely finish off AMD, then they might charge the same prices for IB like they are doing for current SB's
