Im not a big fan of apple at ALL but i have to admit some parts of this impressed me. especially the pricing strategy they came up with starting at just 32$ monthly you can sort of lease and change your iphone every year which is a preety solid deal coming from them.

^If only they did that four years ago...I upgrade phones every year and that plan includes AppleCare+ I believe. The cost ends up being the same price as retail and no forced carrier choices, that's a pretty big luxury in the US.

As always, their implementation is so much better than the rest. The stylus works a lot better than the one in the SP but it will be quite annoying if there's no eraser function on the back. Price is not bad either, I was expecting it to start at $1000.

The speaker setup didn't make it into the iPhone

The ipadPro kind of defeats the point of having a tablet for me since it's the size of an ultrabook, so will still keep on to my ipad Air 2, but yeah i can see their pricing strategy used a LOT for both the consumers and them since generally people upgrade by skipping a generation or two (like from 4S to 5S instead of 4) and just 380$ now each year for a constant phone change every single year (it'd be almost 800+ if you changed iphones every generation) and yup it has applecare too so all in all best recent feature from them to date.

I actually like Apple products, but I'm also not biased to them. The iPad Pro looks cool, and might be helpful for some people, but I don't see a point fot upgrading from an iPad Air/Air 2 for an average user. I just want to share a quote now,

"If you see a Stylus, they blew it" - Steve Jobs

I just wanted to highlight the irony. A Stylus isn't bad at all, neither is it something super important (well maybe it's for some people).

yes, that's why I said for "some people". I'm not criticizing the product at all, I just want to share the irony that's all.

But is that their target market? For artists there is already a Wacom and other similar pen tablet brands that are highly popular and basically cater to just them and why would a student need that? for school afaik their discount for students on their macbook Air is the best deal and what most people get. Some schools do give out ipads too though so it could work lets see.

Its not their only target market, that is why they are selling the stylus separately?

macbook air is still a laptop, u just cant flip it and start taking notes on it. and iPads are not for Productivity. As for artists, yes there are better options. But for someone who doesnt really need the precision and niche advantages and would like a two in one, iPad Pro fits perfectly.

Surface Pro has been out for years now and all these points were made back then whet it launched. But they are still selling. There is definitely a market for two in ones.

I think their target market can also be for general users, for media consumption, given that the Keyboard and Pencil is sold separately. The target market change when you bring them into the story. It can then be used for many different stuff, like small businesses, people with need for portability, yet friendly interface+power, and a competition against Surface. I don't think schools will give out the Pro, as it's a bit on the more expensive side and more "Pro". I surely could see Artists using it, like using it to draw, and then edit in the same platform, and then also use it like a normal tablet.

We will see the response in a few months, so we could wait.

Handwritten notes offers a lot of benefits and is usually the most convenient way of taking notes unless you're attempting to transcribe the lecture. Onenote has been great for the one year that I got to use it.

Why would an average user "upgrade" to the Pro? I know people who would love 15"+ tablets. If it's for inking mostly, then 12" screen will be considered too small by many.

The quote is only ironic if you choose to ignore the context. It was said during the original iPhone era. Styluses back then served only one purpose and was quite bad at it too. Mainstream tablet computers didn't even exist.

He once said that all $500 computer is junk, that's true too. Back then you could only get stupid netbooks, then they released the iPad, the $500 computer that served the purpose for normal users. The Surface showed that there is room for digital pens, so it's only logical that they would offer something too.

if money is not an issue then ipad pro is a good choice plus apple always comes up with new and improve tech . You can use ipad for drawing but its not gonna be professional for a lot of reasons. One lack of software support ,precision and time it takes to draw on it..may be in future it will change . As always these hardware's be it ipad or surface have enough power to handle drawing, gaming ..its the programmer who aint doing there job imo. you dont need 4 gb memory for mobile devices ! i mean come on ..think about windows 98 xp windows 7 ..do they need 4gb memory ? the stratgey is to push users to buy new devices either buy improving the hardware or software . android os do have many issues esp 5 versions on many devices ..heats up...reasons? custome ui every company provides some bloatwares which dont play nice with stock firmware as well as the defective firmware which even makes googles own devices boil egg . when you buy ios you can be sure that their os going to be stable since its unified( soon to be) system fixes are quick but then again you need to pay a hefty cash. if you are someone who roots devices install custom firmware n tinker the os ..you deserve to use both system .
