Thread: Need to buy a SSD for my old Laptop

  1. #1

    Question Suggestion for a SSD

I want to buy a SATA III SSD (6 Gb/s) for my laptop which supports SATA II (3 Gb/s) only (SATA III is backward compatible)

    1. Budget : 15K - 17K
    2. Storage Size: Min. 256 GB

    NOTE:
I am opting for SATA III so that I can use it later in my desktop when I will upgrade it

Please suggest which BRAND of SSD would be best within above parameters and WHERE I can get them.

may be you can consider the crucial bx100 series, low budget great value
as far as i know, these are not available locally with warranty and need to be imported through facebook groups

you can also take a look at the following page (Binary Logic)
    http://binarylogic.com.bd/category/p...d-state-drive/
two options within your price range (rather high price but that's how it is here in Bangladesh)

I think in terms of price to performance ratio Samsung 850 EVO Pro rocks!

I have not used any Samsung ssd personally, so cant speak from personal experience. However, aside from a few issues viewed at OCN, I think they are generally good and stable performers. I am a big fan of crucial though! My old 64gb M4 and 256gb mx100 are running quite well.
