Exclamation Breaking!!!Fake Brand New W-D Hard Disk found to be sold around the country

    Dear All,

Please be aware of this refurbished WD hard disk branded as 'New' by some lunatics all around the country.

Its a no brainer, CSL of course want to exploit this situation to max, its basically a PR effort by them so it seems. But this does not mean they are behind this or anything. I was handed a 'fake' samsung HDD awhile back from a Multiplan shop, they seem to be very convincing while persuading people buying these sh**.

Isn't it actually illegal to sell a refurbished product off as a non refurbished one? Im fairly positive that selling a refurbished HDD advertised as new falls under fraud for deceptive labelling. Nothing will really happen if it's some small store doing it though, but if a big retailer like Global or Computer Source is doing it then you can take action.

That isn't a marketing gimmick, that's utter fraud. No idea why no one sued them really. maybe it's because it'd just fall under small claims and lawyering fees would cost more than what you'd gain but still they'd get a BIG fine.

    you must be new here

as far as i know, there is a consumer protection law here, (also known as consumer screwing law), it states that if your shop sells faulty products or bad medicine which kills millions of children, you won't be responsible because you are just the salesman, it's the manufacturer who will be responsible coz he only made the medicine.
