    1. N/A

Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.

Didn't mention other peripherals (like monitor) as i have already finalized them.
Please give me some advice on the PSU
Also comment on the other parts and recommend better once if possible (within budget)

    dude, you already have a 2400 i5.

Now is not a great time for upgrading cpu/mobo. is your mobo giving you any pain?
just get r9 390 or gtx 970, 2tb hdd, a good casing and power supply and maybe 4gb ram and call it a day. you would be saving ~45k for skylake and ddr4 ram and future ssd. when you upgrade next year, you can sell your gpu and get something even better.

is your psu superb series? then change it asap.

windows 7 is awesome, but directx 12 is coming, you need win10 or 8.

i dont think ms3 can hold 330mm gpu. this time buy a casing which is ~5k~6k and can hold 33cm gpu.

Note: ultra is nothing compared to framerate. i dont want to start a platform war here but people face a very very hard time to tell which platform they are playing if you let them test ps4 and a r9 280/gtx 760 equipped pc. the only way they can easily differentiate is the framerate.
Now, what framerate do you prefer? personally, anything around 30fps is horrible, below 40fps is bad, ~45fps+ is quite good, above 80fps(even in 60fps monitor) is awesome.

there is no 290x in bd , it would be awesome if you could get 290x at 330$ here, but now you have to buy 390 or 970. personally i will probably recommend 390 because you are obviously gonna buy a good psu.

The build you're going to get is okay, but as furious already mentioned, the performance difference between your current i5 and the 4th gen one isn't that great so you might not need to upgrade that for now, maybe wait till next year. as for the gpu, 390X is a bit over kill for 1080p and it's preety bad if you want a dual monitor setup see about getting the 290X instead.

If you skip the cpu+mobo update you can easily get the 980ti . 1080p ultra 60fps for 4 years. 390/970/290x are already outdated.

    - - - Updated - - -

390X for 1080p is overkill? Lol good luck getting constant 60 fps ultra settings with hairworks on witcher 3 with that sh1t .

dude.... i cant remember correctly but 8800gt probably was overkill for some gamers for 1080p gaming. then amd 4890 and 5870, nv 200 series and gtx 480. then gtx 680 comes, where are they now

980Ti wont be able to give ultra 1080p 60fps for next 4 years as gtx 480,580,680,780 could not.

980Ti wont be able to give ultra 1080p 60fps for next 4 years as gtx 480,580,680,780 could not.

you are not new in pc universe, why are you mentioning nvidia gameworks stuff like hairworks, or physX or gsync?

    - - - Updated - - -

those are nvidia gimmicks... why people always fall for nvidia gimmicks after all those years, i still cant get it.
a 290X or 970 can be give you a stable 60fps on ultra at 1080p now, in 4 years you might need a 980 or 390X but a Fury X or 980 Ti will be overkill for 1080p in 4years... the graphics of games aren't improving THAT much significantly as they were in the past. And that is assuming the game in question is well optimized and dosen't have a bad port.

consider this is ~2012. we had far cry 3, b:AC, ac3, call of copy paste, bf3, sleeping dogs.
if you would say graphics are not evolving like before... you would probably right theoretically in ~2012. because B:AC definitely has better graphics than B:AA, but how much? ac3 or call of copy paste mw3,blackops2, or ghosts? they are not good graphics game. the thing about far cry 3 is controversial, far cry 3 obviously looks better than fc2, but graphics are probably worse, not better. bf3 definitely had better gfx than bc2. sleeping dogs also had good graphics.

so my point is, if you would say the same thing in 2012, "hey graphics aint evolving that much" or more popular- "gfx wont evolve that much because x360 and ps3 cant produce anymore texture depth" you would theoretically right, but in reality you would be wrong, coz 2011 gtx 480 aint even relevant now, even gtx 580 is barely mid range card, actually, gtx480 became mid range quite long ago, in 2013-2014.

4 years is like a decade in gpu world. in cellphone world, 2 years is like a decade, in gpu world 4 years is a like a decade, in cpu world ~5 years.

    - - - Updated - - -

i know we are gonna see more downgrades like watch dogs, the division or witcher 3, but the most important thing is- devs dont care that much about optimizing ultra settings like they care about high settings.

    - - - Updated - - -

recent example- r9 290 was aweeeesome, it was also the best price/performance gpu in the history of pc gpus in last 15 years. release in 2013, can give only ~45 fps 1200p ultra witcher 3. thats after cdproject red downgraded the gfx because it wasnt possible for them to build a game that has too much gfx fidelity in their development time. 290x provides ~50fps

r9 290 wont even provide 30fps average in ultra 1080p in 2017 AAA titles,

Or consider this, the 290X came out in 2013 and was priced at 500$ and even now can run most games on ultra, and it's just TW3, what about other games? in crysis 3 with MSAA on at ultra it manages over 50fps. the fury X and 980Ti's starting price is a lot more and they can run games at 4k, 1080p isn't even their target. so there is absolutely no doubt that both these cards will be able to run AAA titles 4 years from now. If we're both still posting in this forum in 2019 lets make a bet on it.

what's the fps? i meant 60fps... i think though 980ti wont be able to provide 60fps ultra in 2019, but it will probably provide 30fps ultra 1080p in 2019, probably coz gtx 580 super high range card became mid range card just after 1 year of release.

at least you didnt mention physX. coz several years ago i faced this type of 'intelligence' from nvidia physX fans... although the very few AAA titles beside batman:AC had significant physX implementation.

also, another nvidia gimmick gsync will be dead in months... coz freesync is gonna be a standard ^_^

freesync isn't a standard though, there are many new gsync monitors going to be released soon so it's not really dying. i had a freesync monitor myself and it's not better than gsync, it's preety much the same thing just for AMD cards. and make the bettt :3

you can clearly compare two monitors, one with gsync off and another with gsync turned on to see the difference for yourself. I've used both gsync and freesync/adaptive sync and there is no difference between the two. and they won't stop producing gsync monitors until nvidia goes bankrupt and stops making cards, which is highly unlikely. Either way it's not a MUST for someone gaming with that card anyways. so im not going to get a gsync, but it's surely not a gimmick.
