Default AMD's respond to BULLDOZER failure

    "This week we launched
    the highly anticipated AMD
    FX series of desktop
    processors. Based on initial
    technical reviews, there
    are some in our
    community who feel the
    product performance did
    not meet their
    expectations of the AMD
    FX and the “Bulldozer”
    architecture. Over the past
    two days we’ve been
    listening to you and
    wanted to help you make
    sense of the new
    processors. As you begin
to play with the AMD FX
    CPU processor, I foresee a
    few things will register:
    In our design
    considerations, AMD
    focused on applications
    and environments that we
    believe our customers use
    – and which we expect
them to use in the future.
    The architecture focuses
    on high-frequency and
    resource sharing to
    achieve optimal
    throughput and speed in
    next generation
    applications and high-
    resolution gaming..

Not much of a response, Bulldozer manages to yield slightly better frames than core i7 2600K, which is negligible at this point, not even a 5% lead, AMD lost the little ground they made with the APUs because the desktop section is a complete fail, the only way I can see AMD making a come back is to go back to the roots, and match core for core performance, they were able to do away with the old netburst architecture processors by going "dual core" and not just two Pentium 4s pushed into the same chip, but later intel beat them in their own game, now AMD must match or outdo intel's processor core-for-core and then bring the core count in to an advantage, otherwise by the time AMD will come up with a 65W 12Core processor (speculating) Intel's 6 core will be good enough to lock horns with it.
