    Default Help buy a TV

Hey guys. I am looking for a new TV and I need some suggestions. The brand should preferably be Sony or Samsung. My budget can be extended till 60,000 Taka.

Also, can anyone tell me why there is such a huge price difference between the showroom televisions and the ones being sold in Chowdhury Electronics. The Sony R35B costs 57,000 in the showroom in Rifles Square, but on the Chowdhury Electronics website it costs 40,000.

Also, how is this TV: http://chowdhuryelectronics.com/prod...art-3d-led-tv/

I'll be using it for watching TV, maybe I'll hook up my pc from time to time but the preference is watching TV. Ideally I'd like a Smart or 3D TV, but I'll settle for a Full HD one.

Don't go crazy with the budget, keep it 60 but it can be 70 if it's really necessary.

Same reason a new samsung phone at showroom will cost over 60000tk, whereas you can get the same phone from a local retailer (GNG, Truefone) for like 45000tk. Basically when you buy from official showrooms you will also need to pay government taxes, vats etc. Same for TV's.

I bought a W700B 32" just before Eid for BDT 37,500/= from Multiplan. It is a beautiful device with almost everything you expect from a Smart TV.

It has Wifi, LAN(1), HDMI (4), USB(2), Composite input, Optical output, Speaker/Headphone output etc. Supports [email protected] FPS.

So far my experience with this TV is that the picture quality is awesome. Only thing that bothers me is that the OS (which is linux based) is a bit slow.

As this is my first Smart TV, I may have expected a bit more. Other than the OS everything else seems fine. Can be used nicely as a 2nd monitor.

I have been using this with my MBP for development purpose.

Sony also provides the source code of the OS of this TV. If you want to tinker with it you are welcome.

Here is the repository for the OS sourcecode: https://github.com/dipu/KDL-32W700B-OS-Source-Code

I had a budget of 40K thats why I bought this one. My suggestion is that you go for a LG Smart TV with WebOS or an Android TV.

Thats just my opinion. So, do research a bit before you buy and good luck
