Thread: Suggestion to buy a phone within 20k

Default Suggestion to buy a phone within 20k

Suggest me a phone within 20k. Operating system does not matter as long as the phone is good all around (camera, fast browsing, online video watching, great battery backup etc.)

Get a symphony set the latest one ..it might not look good as walton or iphone or other android sets but will give you good service for 4-6 yrs. Also When you buy symphony or any other (below 20K) sets , do not update it to latest firmware no matter what they say .

Not sure about the battery but for the rest I'm pretty sure Zenfone 2 is a good phone at this price.
You could also take a look at motorola and lenovo too.

    r u a heavy user of symphony?

I have used Walton, Symphony ,Iphone ,Xperia Z1 etc. From my experience I can say Symphony lasts longer then most and Iphone obviously would last longer then any other phone I have used, 3gs still running . If you want to change your set within a year or 2 then go for anything that you like. If you are heavy user of wifi then check the battery that powers the phone as well if its normal then would not last long . Walton battery lasts approx a year ..symphony would last 2 years under heavy gaming..Iphone would last 5 years if the set is not defective .

let me explain why i said don't update to latest firmware .Below 12 or 10K android sets , they get custom firmware but if you update the set might brick and if its 15K software you can update as it comes with androids default ones , still the more you update the more ram and resources is going to be used n drains more battery from the set. if you are worried about games n apps ..most of the apps n games uses 4+ and not many developer studio would target 5 only os. When they upload the app or game to android store they are shown how many devices would be be supported by that particular android os they have chosen etc. So Unless you are buying 40 to 50K set i dont see why you should update.

Also dont update google hangout , text speech etc, just go to your playstore account n disable those as you will never use them. Normally with stock they comes with 4 mb to 10Mb in size as you update they take 60 to 100 mb n will take a lot of space as google update more . Update the ones you use personally n play games, browser, note taking apps etc . Also if you are a gamer buy the one that has 1 gb ram or 2 gb ram.

I would suggest you to buy
    xplorer XIV which features

    • 1.7 GHz Octa Core
    • 13 MP + 5 MP Camera
    • 5.5" IPS FHD Display
    • Android 4.4.2 Kitkat
    • 2 GB RAM

Lastly I am not responsible if the set is faulty or you experience something bad
Used this set as well as other xplorer series .

Do let us know which set you decided to buy.

please try to avoid gionee and gioenee rebrands(or other rebrands) (symphony, walton, micromax, and yu series).

    now android-
    asus zenfone 2 550ml 2gb 16gb atom 560 er dam ~20~22k
zen 2 laser 550kl 3gb snappy 615 er dam 20 er kom (615 overheat hoy naki jani na.. check review)
    moto g 2gb ~20k

i just bought att unlocked lg g2 32gb from shah fuad bhai for 21k.... its great with snappy 800 but problem is i cant upgrade to official lollipop yet.. have to use kitkat with bloats... i rooted and deleted tons of bloats..

these are great deals... check review of these.

update wise moto g will be best... lg g2 will be worst probably..
spec wise... lg g2 camera might be best... then moto g... i didnt watch full review of laser... atom zenfone 2's camera isnt quite good i think.
performance wise... maybe the weakest moto g will beat them all in long term... because its stock android.. stock android ftw. my g2 d800 still in kitkat so not so fast.. but its fast i have to say... zenfone 2 has reputation to be fast. someone in youtube compared its multitasking ability to one plus one
i think if i can upgrade mine to official lollipop or cyanogen then lg g2 will be fastest.. snappy 800 ^_^

i dont know about zenfone... but people said moto g has extra-ordinary battery backup... lg g2 has 3000mah... but i dont get more than 4-5 hours screen time... though people claimed to get 6-7hours... maybe its the bloats :\

lg g2 has very good audio quality through jack... moto g and zenfone 2 probably also has decent quality sound

Checked asus zenfone 2 looks cool..and as always check the reviews...esp battery life n some sets has heating issues despite being the good brands . if you are going for the brand sets then check youtube review n gaming review etc. Non brands then symphony as i personally used few and its better then all other non brands out there in bd .

I know 10 people bought walton and the prices were 12K 15K 9K << myself 8K << symphony n few family members ..All the walton set battery died within a year ..not even used for gaming..wifi draining more and have touch issues . All the symphony sets are still running so Question is if they use same spec while re branding symphony casts a magic spell and walton doesnt .

furiousTaher have you used a symphony set before? From online any one could say this set is better but there is no way to know unless you use it for yourself . If you own symphony and its dead for some reason i would think again but i got many feed backs telling me symphony is better then walton period.

About rebranding..all the sets using china made hardware and using android as their os and branding it as asus then samsung ..i dont see the point actually . We also use different company hardware n build our pcs too..now on that note I am no pc expert but say 270x card which I am about to buy for my old mb..from what i see everyone uses the same core but branding as sapphire raedon xfx asus ..the difference probably is how they put it together ..the cooling fan ,thermal pastes and adjusting the core ,over clock etc ( just my understanding ofcourse ) the same way Walton puts a lot of money in the phones body to look good where symphony probably put it on adjusting it custom firmware ..every company has a motto just like Samsung puts a lot of money on their marketing going as far giving 10K air calling with 10K sets but other companies don't do that.

The easy way to know is to go to mobile repair shop and ask if they can fix walton they probably say walton fixes their own phone
Also you can ask all the shops who sells all mobile brands if symphony is better then most bd gionee set. Dont take my words for it .

    Peace ^__^

most of my close friends were big walton and symphony fans... i used their phones many times... one of my close friends had 20k symphony z2 or was it z1? i dont exactly remember the model but it was laggy... camera wasnt that bad... but wasnt that good either... and set had problems... both my walton and symphony fan friends faced problems... like hangs or heat issues..
i heard walton's customer care is better than symphony... but i got no direct feedback from my friends yet so no comment.

and seriously... if they rebrand same gionee sets.. why would one set will be more stable than the other one? i believe you are lucky.

now-a-days even my big rebrand fan friends dont like them much... thanks to xiaomi
i personally think now buying gionee rebrands is stupidity(unless you have 5k budget)... because sets like xiaomi redmi 2 prime is 12k bdt and 7k rupee.

honestly i dont understand you... i thought you like iphone way more than android... and now you are suggesting rebranded phones for 240$ budget? i dont get you... maybe i should stop replying to your every post.

thats a good point... but i dont think that's the case here... because i checked the clock speed on the advertisement before.. clockspeed was the same... i believe both the company only changed the logo in the rom. they didnt even change the battery. only the logo in front glass and battery was changed i believe.
for gpu or mobo... companies get chip from intel/nv/amd then they have to make the whole board, its not rebranding... thats not the case in cellphone rebrands..

So The IT company i knew bought 5 symphony phones and 3 waltons ..walton stll having issues symphonys are still okay ..my friends n family all r lucky I dont think he would buy second hand iphone with 20K . I own three android sets , among them one is symphony w71 and other one is walton Primo F1 ..symphony cost me 8K and walton 9K . Walton is dead n symphony is still running ..now both of these are lower end phone . Since i suffered loss here i voted for symphony.

You used your friends phone they were laggy did they fix it? updated to the latest os ..was it custom firmware or factory firmware ..lag can happen for many reasons. if factory reset doesnt fix it probably it sets fault but the way your saying these sets are bad ..11 LKH symphony is being sold permonth n walton 4 lkh per month..it varies of course . Compare now how many high end iphone and asus are being sold at bd permonth. If they are as bad as your saying whole country should be invading their customer care by now.
Since your recommended asus set n i took a look at it n found it good n so i gave you + on your post in case you did not notice before you even reply to my post. But in case he decides to go for bd re branded sets i advised him to get symphony over others bd re branded .what wrong with it?
You did not even use re branded set and you have so much against them .
but you are right about one thing if its 20K he should get a brand set since they all seem to give you stable performance .
Now i got xperia imported from Dubai and its having heat issues so i got unlucky on this one doesn't mean xperia sets are all bad.

just to be safe ..just like branded phones you can find the feed back of many people online if they have heating issues or battery issues ..if the set just comes out and buy it then you r depending on lucks..so its wise to check the feed back of set before buy be it branded or non branded or second hand. Hope it helps.

steam support is one of the worst support division in the history of modern corporations. yet i dont see people invading steam office... i only see people ranting online lol.
    #justsaying

and customer support- i heard even samsung bangladesh has problems with customer support...
you know.. its bangladesh... companies dont wanna honor warranty,, we see that for years in pc hardware sector

  17. #17

    Cool

i played once or twice the steam ..not expert at games but they run on server and you connect it from computers to play it. Since its online it heavily demanding for the server as well as the client ends ..server ,ping rate , graphics all need to be sync in real time for a good experience and many other variables at play ( just assuming ) ..so people just know that they may face problem at any given time yet they are playing online . The amount of players playing the game vs the steam company managing + the company released the game on server..if its game issues this probably goes back an forth to developer then server build ..the steam ..but should be faster since developer company is always playing the game themselves on server ..or at least they have on proxy playing it .

on the other hand sets are vital for most avg users dont want to lose contacts or pictures and they use lower tier mobile and they dont face much issues but when it comes to android sets over 7 or 8 ..the kitkat and lolipop sounds so charming to customers that they want the looks and the latest firmware always..hence the set also faces issues so what these company do ..they use custom firmware which can not be upgraded at all and will perform better ..where as walton did not use custom for few n did not warn the users so they updated n set bricked..of course it could come back to life after restoring going to hospital first.

In any case we did talk a lot and exchange few jabs learned something as well..its all good

you dont know nothing about steam support... ignorance is bliss if you knew you would as furious as we are on steam support

i am following zenfone 2 related staff for quite a while and my observation is if you are a power user and don't care about battery, camera and display than than zenfone 2 is for you since it has fast and no lag ui, medium bright display, mediocre camera and obviously below par battery, here the most important thing is the battery because it not consistent at all, with average use it may barely last a full day but the next day with same use it may not last 8/9 hours and the average SOT is 4-4.5 HOURS.
