catalyst driver wont install
so basically i run gigabyte hd5670 gddr5 on a windows 7 32 bit OS.
i had catalyst driver 11.6 installed on my system and things were fine. but for the past week or so i tried installing driver 11.8. and gives me the following message,
installation complete (warnings occurred during installation) view log for details
and i found out that its not been upgraded to 11.8.
and last night i i did a complete uninstall of catalyst driver using driver sweeper. and then i tried to install catalyst driver again. but it just wont install at all. i tried installing quite a few fo the driver models (11.6, 11.8, 11.9) but it gives me the same above stated message everytime.
and now my screen is set to some stupid resolution.
any help would be appreciated, thank you
Re: catalyst driver wont install
Be careful with Driver Sweeper, if you don't follow the exact same process, problems can occur. UNINSTALL first, then boot into safe mode and then clean with driver sweeper. After that, boot into normal mode and reinstall the driver. Miss a step, and it will be all over the place. Just to remind you in case you missed one.
Upgrading works well with WHQL drivers, not necessarily with Beta or Preview drivers. Try some older but stable drivers like 10.2/10.3. And most importantly what does the log say about the issue?
