Hey all the DOTA players out there, i want you guys to read this. Don't be surprised. Study the site and try to figure out what they are doing. The site is maintained by "World Cyber Games" them-selves. Now you might ask why go and read something that might not have anything to do with DOTA, since WCG is not including it in their official tournaments list. LOLz that doesn't mean they can't have leagues of other games. I will post two links , one that describes their vision, read it carefully and one that proves that DOTA is included in the WCG leagues. oh oh and WCG has also affiliated the official site of DOTA (www. dota-allstars.com) proving that WCG itself is interested in their (the developers of the DOTA concept) ideas and the potentiality of DOTA.

so don't be dis-hearted, someday you might see DOTA in the official WCG tournaments. Everyone is realizing the potential of this this map, and i have a feeling that Billizard might develop a Stand alone game based on the concepts of DOTA.

You have to know how to earn money. Its not "moghal" time any more. This is 21st century. You have to consider the community. Customer comes first.

What is the point of ignoring the community? It seems like if big shot like EA is backing a game, WCG includes it. What if nobody likes the game? What if nobody plays it?

Blizzard already has a team based RPG called WoW! A lot of ppl pay sth like 10 bux a month 2 play WoW. I heard Blizzard earns 8-10 mill a month with WoW. wtf they'll wanna have a team based RPG made by themselves which doesn't require ne money 2 play ruin their big money game?

Also, WCG isn't the only tourney in the world, and CS/WC r probably the only 2 games who DO NOT pay ne money 2 have their game in WCG. All the other games r by EA or 360 game.

i don't know MUCH abt the int'l DotA scene. (i read once abt DotA tourneys not finishing in time or sth in another forum.) i dunno abt other DotA tourneys.(i can't talk abt this unless i know abt atleast 5/6 big name tourneys) but i sure hope u guys know.

Well, as i see, you didn’t even care to know the international condition of DotA before posting your "knowledgeable" notion!

To be honest with you, I am just gonna ignore your post.

Umm, I donno much either but here it goes, DotA is a MAP, made by nerds who sucked at RTS games, namely Warcraft. =P. I play DotA for fun, yeah it's a lot of fun, but I doubt it will EVER reach that level, coz of some reasons, like Red and Pulple Boy said, no huge company behind it, and GG AIM is also correct, DO NOT bring DotA to CS and WC's league, they are the kings of the hill, DotA is just more famous in Asia with all the "yellow folk". I'd love to see DotA up there, don't get me wrong, but some of the DotA players just piss me off. =]. I doubt you will reply, but DotA is WITHOUT A DOUBT the hottest MAP (game as some call it) in Asia. =]

DotA is officially the most closely followed games in the world! It has separate tournaments all over the world, and is considered VERY BIG! Just go to GotFrag or myMYM. Dude, the highest hits I see on WCIII/CS demos are 150-200, that's only if someone like Moon or ToD plays. Ha ha! DotA replays get something around 3000-4000 hits overnight if a PDL/PriDe Replay is posted, overnight!

DotA in Bangladesh is nothing compared to what it is in other parts of Asia or even the world! 60% of the youth in Brazil play DotA! Over 90% of school children in Phillipines play DotA! Malaysia has over 200 Gaming Cafes that hosts DotA games all day! This is discounting the home players. DotA has been a huge part of CEVO, CGS, CPL, CAL & CPL till 2007. The biggest online DotA tournament - MYM Prime Defending has separate qualifiers for each continent. And 100s of teams sign up to qualify in each qualifier.

FYI, there are over 8000 registered semi-professional/professional teams in DotA-League.com! DotA was one of the most successful games in ClanBase before ClanBase. DotA broke apart because of bad Administration.

Two of the biggest onlie gaming communities are Battle.Net & GArena! About 90% of the players o these clients play DotA, haha! Go log-in to battle.net to see it. AIM, this may be a little hard for you to digest but Warcraft III is still alive just because of DotA. If DotA hadn't existed, it'd take it's podium seat beside AoE II and Generals, and such games which are still played but not significantly enough!

The thing is the "just a map status" has gone off a long time ago. It's pretty dumb to call it "just a map" because the DotA culture is very rich!

What are you saying? DotA is I thik more popular than WCIII now! :/ It is very widely endorsed! ToD plays a wicked Tiny and an even wickeder Meepo. SK.Lyn has been seen many times in Europe Rooms playing DotA with Meepo. Shox, a well know Ladder player in the Euro circuit is known o play Slardar, as it is his favorite hero. As far as I know, DotA is a very enjoyed pass-time in Manuel and Cassandra's life! (Manuel = Grubby, Cassandra = His Girlfriend who lives/travels with him).
