Thread: Problem with LAN and Multiplayer

Default Problem with LAN and Multiplayer

HI guys, some of you should already know that my pc configuration is way too low to run most games I want to play. However, luckily Need For Speed Most Wanted runs pretty well on both my desktop and laptop (although from its later sequel, Pro Street, I'm outta luck ). Now I wanted to play with my brother via LAN. But I failed. Here's what happened:

I connected both laptops, configured the IPv4 settings to 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2 then pinged to test whether the connection was successful. Then I opened mw in both computers, created a host then tried to join the game from the other one. Guess what it didn't work at all. A few times it seemed to work but as soon as I tried to 'join' the game the game crashed. I checked online and found a few fixes to get rid of this problem. However, none of them worked for me.

Another question I have in mind is how do I play online? I mean, it's not possible to get an EA authorization code without buying the title. Still I see many people are playing online. My connection is banglalion 512kpbs. Is that good enough for playing online? If yes, how can I play?

That's all for today. Hope you guys will help.
Most of you don't know me. However, a lot of you have discussed about the articles I wrote and visited my blog at least once. Wondering? Well, do you recall these two links?

Playing online games with Banglalion is horrible. Not only because of high ping but also because of frequent dc problem. You better consider BTCL or Link3. By the way, Banglalion doesn't allow port forwarding. So, you have to change your ISP anyway.

As for how to play online with your brother, my signature says it all . I played NFS MW in Tunngle lag free with Qubee 512 kbps with a BD player.

I'm considering to switch as well. May not happen anytime soon, but will switch. I hate FUP.

By the way, does tunngle use Internet data? It looks like so. In that case, I won't be using it. Again, FUP. Plus it's not given that an active internet connection will be available all the time. By Lan, I meant lan cable's both end connected to two computers. So there's no more ports for internet connection.

    Solution:

2.Then run the game . Host a game in on pc.Then on the other search server>join>session Match>any >join.

What do you mean by Tunngle uses Internet data? Tunngle needs internet to run. FUP will not be a problem. Wimax is fine for gaming, but either the host or the player has got to have his port forwarded. Otherwise, no connection can be established. And Banglalion does not allow port forwarding.

Does Citycell Zoom Ultra allow port forwarding? How much data is sent and received during playing a game? I'm only subscribed to 1.5 GB limited package. Do you think it's not enough to use this connection for gaming?

@aisajib, they don't. As for the data sent and received during gameplay, it's equivalent to your upload and download speed.
