Default Bangla Gamer Counter Strike League '08 (BGCSL)

Bangla Gamer has been having so many Leagues in this year, BG has had a FIFA league, and having another FIFA league and DotA league. As Counter Strike is one of the most played FPSs in the world and Bnagladesh, BG wanted to have a CS league, but couldn't go through with the plans thanks to F1's announcement of the WCG BD, having CS 1.6. After that annocement, the BGCSL was changed to CS 1.6. Many teams dropped out, and most didn't register. So here are some facts about CS.

[Note: the following is hand written by me, from my knowledge, information may be wrong feel free to correct me, and spelling mistakes may occur]

Counter Strike was made from Half Life as a mod back in 99, when a group of college students were bored, they wanted something faster than Half Life. CS was made from the Half Life engine.

Then in 2004 came Half Life with the Source Engine, it took 10 years to develop this engine and still today it is a wonder how they made it at that time, and Counter Strike Source was released. This was completely different from the old CS, only similaraties was the Bunny Hop trick, but was made harder.

WCG has had CS since 2000. From 2000 till 2003 Counter Strike was played (versions 1.0-1.5).
In 2004, the WCG swicthed to the new CS:CZ (Condition Zero), which was mainly made for consoles.
In 2005, the WCG switched to the newly released CS:S (Source), which was made using the new Half Life 2 engine, named Source eneine.
In 2006, however the WCG switched to the newer version of CS, which was CS 1.6, this was an update to the CS 1.5, which was played in the earlier years.
And since then it has been CS 1.6 around th world, in every competition.

Counter Strike 1.6 has always been the main event at every gaming tournament around the world, till recently when CEVO, CGS and CPL started switching to Counter Strike Source. CS 1.6 is still played at these tournaments, but most players have switched to CS:S, thus making CS:S the main event now. Alothough most have switched the WCG still plays CS 1.6.

Counter Strike has 2 different formats, the classic format of MR15 (Max Rounds), which had $800 as the starting money, and 1:45 mins as the roundtime, and each half was of 15 rounds.

How ever after CGS, CEVO and CPL swicthed to Counter Strike Source, they addapted to another rule, the MR9, which has $16,000 as the starting money and 1:20 mins as the roundtime, and 9 rounds per half.

This new move made CS:S more exicting as it gives more money, it's more fast paced and it has less rounds making it more fun for viewers.

So in conclusion, CS 1.6 is played using the MR15 format, where as CS:S is played on the MR9 format.

So the final question is, which one do you want in the BGCSL? CS 1.6 with MR15, CS:S with MR15 or CS:S with MR9? State reasons why?

CS MR15! Let them host a CS 1.6 League! I'll try hosting a CS:S MR15 league after the DotA League is done! Well I could start it tomorrow too, but the thing is Prizes. I'll have to think about a sort of non-paper based prize as a paper-based prize will be hard to acquire. I'll possibly talk to Smart and see whether i can get some money involved! Maybe get ONIX to sponsor it and pay in hardwares.

ROFL! You n00bz, we are trying to make it like the pros, coz unless we play like em, we can't be good like em, simple, MR15 is fun, we can play that online or in pubs, just aye league'ta MR9 kheli, problem koi? And besides, MR9 may sound easy, but unless you win, same problem, 3 rounds of fun, then what? You're in debt. =P. It's not as easy, come over to Uttara, and we can play MR9, still no one agreed, but hey, they hated 15 sec freeze time and also the new maps, but now love em, that's coz people hate change, just try it, and play it for a few days, then watch. ;-)

That is yet to be announced, but we need a decent number of teams, you guys wanted Source so here it is, vote for MR15 or MR9, and register, and it'll start. Now, if you have issues, I have nothing else to say.

Please, people explain to me why you want MR15? It's longer, less money, less fun.

MR9, is more fun, faster, more money, more gun, no one can complain, ¤¤¤¤ I wish I had an AWP, I was broke.

And IF you guys didn't know, MR9 is HARDER, yes, do you honestly think, it's as easy as it sounds? In BOTH MR9 and MR15, the first 3 round matter ALOT! I've seen AWP-ers buy everything if they have cash, do some math, same for riflemen, please play MR9 in this league, if you like it, we will follow it, or if you don't we can switch to MR15 again. Although, no one has ever. There is a reason pros use it, and every tourni uses it, CPL, CGS and CEVO are ALL business, they know how to keep players and teams wanna play more. Please TRY IT BEFORE COMMENTING! This isn't the n00bz in your pub playin Nyaareana with $16,000, and buying ONLY a $4,200 auto sniper. This is a SemiPro level league, where people are taking the next step and in search of the goal to become a pro.

Come on guys, really, just give it a go...in my opinion MR9 is harder, faster, and more fun...MR15 is okey casually...but come on...take it to the next level guys! If you don't like it, you can always go back to the way it was...I say give it a go

I have just gotten a request to add 5 (FIVE) votes to CS 1.6 with MR15 format.

I also posted this in TG and Pochadim, they will have teams coming as well. Hopefully this will be a hit.
