Default Mainboard Upgradation: A waste or More futureproof?

1st of all,I never used a pricey mobo but I HAVE used like 5 mobos in 6-7 years.
Most of em were MSI and kinda shitty but I liked them.
IMO, a cheap ATX mobo is enough.

2nd,I know the ECS H67 one is shiny and good looking but I don't think it's worth it.

3rd,you really should see the ECS P67 BE board

I dunno if ECS is reliable or not,I am using ECS GTX 550Ti for two months thou :S
If you need any info about ECS products contact Superior Electronics[IDB/Multiplan]
They prolly are the dealer of ECS or something like that.

And again the ECS board isn't worth it.It's Micro ATX and Gigabyte is more durable.

ecs mobo can give u mental satisfaction only.No performance difference u know. And about future proofing both are same imo. Moreover it will be difficult to sell ur current mobo in good price though its new....

my last word is if u like to play games n if dont hate consoles utilize ur money to buy a console.A new mobo cant give u the joy of playing great games. And u already have a good mobo.

I've used many motherboards in the past, most of them top end for it's time:

    INTEL D915GAV
    ABIT IP35-E
    ABIT IP35-Dark Raider
    ABIT IP35 PRO XE
    ABIT X38 QuadGT
    MSI 890GXM G65

& all of them were pretty much served me well, with the last being an exception: a mATX board -.-! One thing I would recommend is, never skimp out on the motherboard or the PSU! Your mobo is the host for all the components inside the PC, the better the mobo the longer it would last & would be more reliable!

About the "upgrade" , INTEL tends to switch to newer(different) sockets once in a while, so changing the mobo is futile, wait for the next gen CPUs & then decide what to get!

You're lucky that you've used AWESOME motherboards like P35 and x38 most of the times

    Especially ABIT ones

lucky indeed! But now I see no point in getting a very future proof mobo, I mean I would happily go for a 6-7K full ATX board, with the necessary stuff, but it's ideal not to skimp on the two components I've mentioned!
