here is a problem occurred yesterday at Daruchini about piracy of a bangla film. Police raided in the Daruchini server location and have arrested the owner !!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's sad, because the server doesn't save the contents unless the people there also downloaded it and kept in the direct file server!

I actually support this move to be honest. Its our country's own content so its better if it doesn't get pirated. BD er free jinish chara r kisui upload kora appropriate hobena.

so called free speech & democracy in Bangladesh. Akta movie niya koto dhong. Politician and regulators der r kono kaaj nai. Ashol kaaj to aktau kore na but ajaira kaaj e besto thaake. It is simply sad .......

Mostly it goes for music/movies of BD.

If you share games/foreign movies, etc. RAB won't be active for that I guess.

Daruchinibd had rich collection of HD movies and TV shows. Whats more is most of them had enough dedicated seeder to share the files quickly. Torrentbd has a maximum of 5-7 seeders in the popular torrents and 1-2 in the less popular ones.

Again, torrentbd has lots of bugs. If it shows you that 3 seeders are seeding a torrent actually it's just one person. I searched for Game Of Thrones today, I found a torrent file with 3 seeders. I thought, "Oh well, 3 would be fine!" but later disappointing seeing there is actually one seeder showing as 3.

Look at Nyaatorrents/Bakabt or anything, the info that the hosting company has on these owners is not enough to find them. Hosting a torrent site like that on your home is more or less asking for getting shot.

We can't buy a movie for $20, so we must pirate it.
We can buy a movie for 100/150tk, so we must not pirate it.

Nevertheless, 99% of us doesn't even have access to original foreign contents, so again piracy is a MUST.

I bought both of the "Jagoroner Gaan" package for 1000tk even though I don't listen to these songs THAT much. Why? Because I support them. I could've easily downloaded them and saved my money. Also they would've been properly tagged and also I wouldn't have had the trouble of ripping the CDs. But...

Yes the situation is very much different with BD's own content. Foreign publishers do not even see BD as a potential market, there is absolutely no loss for them if we download the movie. However if orginal copies of those movies are brought, they will have outrageous price tags whereas BD content won't. There are some companies addressing this by making a custom price model for the BD market only, like Kaspersky and Norton, so I am also against pirating against their softwares as well.

But when it comes it movies, the scenario is different. They have no loss, hence no theft, hence no actual 'piracy'. But BD's content is mainly released for the BD market only, hence loss for producers, hence piracy. If foreigners downloaded these movies then the government wouldn't go after them either. Works both ways

There is a place where we must draw the line. I try my best not to pirate Bangladeshi movies and songs because (a) these things are reasonably priced, and (b) by doing so, I'm contributing to the movie/music scene of my own country, thus encouraging more quality productions

I'll also buy non-pirated software/games if they take into account the socio-economic conditions of this country and introduce special pricing, e.g. both Kaspersky and Norton are selling their security suites for only 1100, I see no reason to pirate those.
