Default So many questions :( !

    My current config.

    + XFX 8600GTS

... With the 9800GTX available on the market, I am thinking, should I upgrade ?

    - Will I get a great increase in gaming ? (Not CS, other high-end games)

    - Is it possible to use 9800GTX x2 SLI ? Do they have the mobo for it in UCC ? If so, how much does it cost, any idea ?

    - I would need SLI motherboard for that, right ? Are they very expensive ?

    - Does UCC sell the XFX 9800GTX black edition ? Any idea on the price ?

    - Is there *any* reason to choose ATI cards ?

    - Are there *much* better CPU's available than my current one ?

    - Does adding those bigger, expensive CPU cooling devices (made by ASUS, sold by GLOBAL) keep my CPU heat down ? Do you recommend me to use them ?

    - I currently run

    • 8600 GTS
    • 2x Optical
    • 2x Sata HDD x 500GB 7200rpm
    • 3x cooling fans
    on my 600W PSU.

Can I add one more hard drive to this ?

Thank you very much for your time

I will only advice you about the Graphics card. Wait for a little longer. NVIDIA released their 1GB card, its know as GTS 280. Its the best in the market now and it even beat the ATI cards, for the time being.

You might want to check out these link:

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_gtx_280.html read the features carefully.

This time its a 3 way SLI. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/726/1/

The GTS 260 is Equivalent to 9800GTX; so i suggest you go for GTX 280. That is if you got the money and nerve to afford it^^.

Thanks everyone for suggesting GTX 280. I have seen BFG's OC version of it and the price is, well, in my range right now.

However the problem is, I would have to buy it from USA. Even though I would be getting life-time warranty, the thought of having needed to send my card to USA everytime, is a big hassale.

Ei bepare ki kora jay ?

Dude i highly doubt cards like those are likely to cause problems by themselves.Just make sure you have a good UPS to prevent electrical problem and it run just fine... i run a 2yr old 6800XT "without" a UPS ar onek bar tou current jai, no problems yet and i got this card from USA aswell

Get HD4000 series cards..they are very good for their price...but if you got the cash, nvidia all the way

And i would recommend get your RAM to 4GB or go ddr3, ar wait for some months Q4 are coming, already BG te akta post ase eder opor u can check that out.
New CPUs are gonna be way better than the ones now.So akhon apnar CPU change korar kono point nai unless you wanna run extremely high-end games like crysis in ultra graphics. But wait akhon GPU is more important than CPU.

And you wanna add more HDD ? I think it would run but then again i don't have much idea about PSUs...to be safe since you are gonna get a monster GPU get 700-800WATT psu .

Why go SLi ? SLi would just increase few FPS..SLi only is utilized with 24inch monitors.Naile SLi is just foolishness ar waste of hard earned money

Wait imp jinish you bhulei gesi...i don't think your mobo supports PCI-E 2.0 so i would suggest to wait a little longer for the nahelam mobos to come out..then akbare all upgrade kore felen. ar by that time card der price drop korbe...ar aro powerful cards ber hobe

no just wait for some more days for price drop...

    - Will I get a great increase in gaming ? (Not CS, other high-end games)
yes!!! because ur using XFX 8600 GTS

    - Is it possible to use 9800GTX x2 SLI ? Do they have the mobo for it in UCC ? If so, how much does it cost, any idea ?
Yes, 9800GTX supports 2way(2 card) & 3way(3 card) SLI... yes, mobo is available in UCC... price is aprox. 12000~25000/=TK for motherboard & 9800GTX is around 30000/=TK...

    - I would need SLI motherboard for that, right ? Are they very expensive ?
Yes, SLI motherboard is required... they r expensive...

    - Does UCC sell the XFX 9800GTX black edition ? Any idea on the price ?
    no...

    - Is there *any* reason to choose ATI cards ?
yes, because ATI new 4000 series is faster & 4000 series is now known in the market as the bang for the buck card...ATI's new HD4850 is a lot faster then nVidia's GeForce 9800GTX but 4850 costs less then 9800GTX.... ATI has improved a lot from there last 3000 series cards... so my suggasion is get a ATI HD4850 instant of a 9800GTX.....

    - Are there *much* better CPU's available than my current one ?
yea, u can chk out Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.00GHz... but I don't think u need to change ur cpu...

    - Does adding those bigger, expensive CPU cooling devices (made by ASUS, sold by GLOBAL) keep my CPU heat down ? Do you recommend me to use them ?

Yes, they keep CPU's cool... & u will definately need one if u want to overclock ur processor... asus makes good CPU Coolers.. u can also chk out Thermaltake Coolers in UCC store.. but I recomend ASUS...

    - I currently run
    • 8600 GTS
    • 2x Optical
    • 2x Sata HDD x 500GB 7200rpm
    • 3x cooling fans
    on my 600W PSU.

Can I add one more hard drive to this ?

Yes, u can add 2 more HDD....

ah....that's a lot of questions I hope the answers will help u.....

yes there will be... in some days they will brought ATI's HD4850 that will be priced around 20000TK... if they will not going to drop 9800GTX's price no one is going to buy it.... & they r selling 9800GTX in 31000TK because they bought in when the price was about $300... in the next shipment they will buy it in approximately $180....

unfortunately he can only by these from here. He got the GPU from HK (thanks to me of course) and now is looking into processors. He thought he had a deal, but the processor turned out to be the lame Pentium D processors. Another friend has a cousin working at UCC, hopefully we can get a good deal from there. I'll suggest him that motherboard, but the processor will cost a lot more. How much does a 2.0-2.4Ghz C2D cost here? or should i ask him to go for AMD processors?

it seems that way, all i hear is intel. No one talks about AMD anymore. I thought the triple core processors would stir things up, but i think its not available here at all. He probably wont be able to afford the E8400, gotta find something cheaper.

edit: thanks for the info coldfire. I'm gonna look it up and where exactly is Onix CS? I wanna check there too

edit2: ok i found it...never thought BD yellow pages would come in handy

DC, switching from 8600 to 9600 isn't gonna help much. Rather buy the 4870 from ATI. ;-)
Australian-I feel for ya bro gaming on a piece of crap you should be twice as good at any game you play. Thats really really a scary thought. Part of me does not want you to get a new rig.
