Default Unable to forward UDP ports 16383-32767

I'm using the Huawei modem and a TP-Link WR340GD router and just like the title says, I'm unable to forward the above port range (UDP traffic only). I used the PFPortCheck utility to test if the ports have been forwarded correctly.

I even tried DMZing my router, and connecting my modem without the router, but no luck. The TCP ports forward fine, it's just the UDP traffic that's stuck. Due to this blocked port range, I'm unable to play any Steam games, (27000-27050) UDP. Any ideas what's going on? Can anyone with a Huawei modem replicate these issues?

Cool Re: Unable to forward UDP ports 16383-32767

I have forwarded my torrent port with Huawei modem, it is possible to forward any port with this modem

Port forwarded with "NAT- Virtual Server"-

First change your modem to routing mode and enter pass/username, just like below the screenshot-

    Then goto NAT>Virtual Server
Enter the followings to your settings

    Start Port Number 27000
    End Port Number 27050
Local IP Address Your PC IP
    Start Port(Local) 27000
    End Port(Local) 27050

Now, You must enable/unblock those port range(27000-27050) from your PC antivirus/internet security firewall.

And you must Disable "SPI"- Stateful Packet Inspection(Also known as DDoS protection) from modem firewall-

Otherwise nothing will work. Don't use TP Link router if you forward your port with Huawei modem, and If you forward port with TP Link then don't use above settings. Use either one of them. I don't know how TP link works and I have no idea about TP Link router(Google more for port forwarding).

**ALSO MAKE A BACKUP from "Restore & Backup" settings before proceeding above steps, If something goes wrong then I am not responsible!

Even if you forward UDP ports from router, BTCL drops UDP packets from their routers. So no CSS for you.

@shakhawat , thanks for your post, although that's not exactly what I was looking for. My basic problem is that I cannot forward the range of the ports I mentioned. Outside of this range, forwarding works just fine. You could do me a favour though since both of us are using Huawei modems, download this utility, PFPortcheck, and test whether you can forward the ports I mentioned (make sure you're checking the UDP protocol).

Remember I once sent you a PM regarding this issue? You have been able to play Alien Swarm just fine, whereas I cannot even connect to the server. Here are some screenshots of my port testing

    DMZ enabled from router

Port testing, 16383 open, 16384 blocked

And the ports open up after 32767

It's really puzzling, and maybe I'm reading too much into this, but does anyone else notice that 16384 = 2^14 and 32768 = 2^15 ? Although I doubt it has much significance...

You can play as long as it does not route to BTCL IIG (where the drop occurs).

Doesn't everything go through the BTCL IIG when it's leaving the country? Or have you found some other way to play Alien Swarm and other Steam games? I can't figure out if this issue is just unique to me, I even tried it on my netbook, same thing.

    <p>
@faisal.amir.bd I downloaded the port checker(2.56 MB) tool that you recommended me, But when I double click for installation it just crashes. I can't install! Tried it few times but no luck. BTW, don't use DMZ(Demilitarized Zone). Use virtual server for forwarding. DMZ is risky for home users.

Enabled the UPnP, if it's disabled.

    Found this on web- http://www.resoo.org/docs/counterstr...eam_ports.html
    http://www.cstrike-planet.com/tutori...ort-Forwarding</p>

Non-dedicated AS server uses something different. We can't play on dedicated AS server.

Yeah dude I already have enabled all the bells and whistles. No dice. I know what DMZ does, I just have turned on temporarily for diagnostic purposes.

And CVP, I know I seem like a total n00b right now, but walk me through this. When I click join game/start game from the main menu, the servers that I'll see in the server browser are all dedicated servers, right? I'm assuming this because I haven't been able to join a single one. So how would I go about finding a non-dedicated AS server?
