Default Valve: Dota 2 coming 'soon'

Gamescom reveal rumours looking more likely following latest Valve announcement

Dota 2 will be delivered "soon" using the improved Steam download system detailed this weekend.

"Over time, more and more of the content on Steam will be delivered using this new system," Valve said. "Soon, Dota 2 will be delivered using it."

Evidence points to Valve revealing DotA 2 at Gamescom next month, with the event's official website listing the Portal maker as an exhibitor due to show off a "strategy" game.

Last October, Valve confirmed plans to launch the sequel to the popular Warcraft 3 mod Defence of the Ancients for PC and Mac some time this year.

The company has said of the game: "Dota 2 promises to take the unique blend of online RTS and RPG action that has made Dota popular with tens of millions of gamers and expand upon it in every way."

Valve GamesCom reveal is DoTA 2
    Developer confirms strategy showing

Valve's confirmed it's to show strategy game DoTA 2 at GamesCom next month.

The developer confirmed the news to fansite DOTA-Two.com, following a listing on the official GamesCom site stating that the Half-Life studio was to show off a "strategy game".

Last October, Valve confirmed plans to launch the sequel to the popular Warcraft 3 mod for PC and Mac some time this year.

The company has said of the game: "Dota 2 promises to take the unique blend of online RTS and RPG action that has made Dota popular with tens of millions of gamers and expand upon it in every way."

Valve's DotA 2 voice actor claims Autumn release
    Straight from The Sniper's mouth...

Valve voice actor John Patrick Lowrie has claimed RTS Defense of the Ancients 2 will be released on PC as soon as this Autumn.

Although he might not be a household name, Lowrie has voiced characters in a few of Valve's most well known games including Half-Life 2, in which he voiced Odessa, and also Team Fortress 2 in which he played The Sniper.

Lowrie's Valve ties also extend to his marriage; he's hitched to Ellen Mc Lain, better known as the voice of GLaDOS in Portal, as well as the stern TF2 announcer lady. He's currently putting his skills to use by recording audio for a few characters in DotA 2.

Yesterday Valve confirmed it will be showing DoTA 2 at GamesCom next month, following a listing on the official GamesCom site stating that the Half-Life studio was to show off a "strategy game".
