Question How to synchronize contacts (which were uploaded in ovi.com) with non Nokia mobile

    Dear all,

Today I have lost my Nokia mobile in a party where someone pick-pocketed it.I have always synchronize my contacts with ovi.com. Now I want to buy a mobile (probably not Nokia). But the problem is, does OVI allow other mobiles to synchronize with their website if I use my ID and Password which I used to synchronize my Nokia mobile?

Also please suggested any good mobile costing as low as possible. Remember I need to synchronize my contacts with OVI so that mobile must be able to do that.

@error .....your so true man, those chineas phones are total waste, and x2qwerty is best buy for txt lovers IMO too.---------- Post added at 14:34 ---------- Previous post was at 13:57 ----------Maybe i got it, if you can use *.vcf files to your new non-nokia phone(usually works with all pc suites other than chineas phones) then you should do the following: login to mail.ovi.com and then click on contacts tab. There you will see all the contacts you have synced from your phone. Then tick on Select all tickbox to select all you contacts. After that click on 'Actions' and then click 'Export all...'. You will have a range of options to export all your contacts online to your pc. I suggest you to go for the last option: vCard, Zip of .VCF files: (One .VCF file per contact, Outlook compatible) which will save all the contacts in seperate vcf file in to one zip file. The download will begin momentarily and after that VOILA....all your contacts are there for you waiting to hop on to your new phone.....use the pc suite of your new phone to import all the contacts......---------- Post added at 14:37 ---------- Previous post was at 14:34 ----------Remember all those contacts you will download are not only phone numbers also email addresses you might have used with ovi mail.....cheers....
