    Red face My dream Motherboard

If there was any option to order custom motherboard by the manufacturer my dream motherboard would be:

    1. 8 usb 2.0 ports
    2. no other ports, not even LAN ports.
    3. 1 PCIE 2.1 x16 port
    4. 1 PCI port
    5. 2 SATAII ports ( because 1 HDD and 1 DVD RW.........enough)
    6. No built-in sound card or graphics card. ( as the ATI gpu user have the option to use built in ATI sound card)
    7. 2 RAM slot
    8. All solid capacitors and mosfets..... for longibity.
    9. MicroATX form factor.

Super power saving and highly cost effective i guess.

    the bold lines = fail!

NO built-in LAN ? I mean, why in the world would you not have the builtin LAN option in your motherboard rather than an onboard & that too with only 1 PCI slot ? :S
NO built-in sound card ? Have you ever used the GPU's builtin sound ?
2 RAM slots ? What would you do, if you in the near future need more RAM ?
2 SATA ports ? What would you do if you run out of HDD space ? You wouldn't even have the option to install an addon SATA card, since you like to have a single PCI slot!

your dream motherboard is already available in the market, just a little short of 2USB ports, some even have 10 ports *mATX* if you count the internal headers! & mATX boards are already very efficient, so, idk what more to say!

    1. i dont think its needed to have lan ports in the era of wireless network
    2. I will never cross fire and waste my money after buying high wattage psu.
    3. 2x2 GB is enouuuuuuuugh....
    4. 1TB hdd is far more enough for me.......im using 320hdd for last 3 years and still 60% of it is empty.
    5. ATI sound card doesnt sounds bad, i think so.

    1. in the era of wireless networks ? LOL ? You'd need a Wireless NIC which would need a PCI/PCI-E slow, where will you get that ?
    2. I will never cross fire and waste my money after buying high wattage psu.
funny, why would you need a high wattage psu in the 1st place ?

2x2GB seems enough, but wont it be nice if you had the chance to upgrade but get stuck cuz of the limited RAM slots ?

Building your dream motherboard would indeed cost more than less & without all those expansion options the maker is going to provide you in the 1st place! :S
Last of all, have you ever used one ? the builtin ATI sound ? I dont think so!
