So when i put my USB Pendrive on my uncle's PC, try to open a folder on it ,its not openable any more but it was when i had put it in my PC but after putin it to that PC the folder is completely damaged maybe by a virus. And after that the folder isnt openable at all on any other PC. i scanned the drive with the KIS 2012 (updated) and found some trojans but even after nuetralizin the folder is damaged. So my question is, cant i recover the files on it?? This is a common problem for fake China-made USB flash drives.

Your windows has been infected with a or multiple viruses so the folder options isn't supposed to function fully, your best bet is to reinstall windows, don't open any drives from my computer, if you really need to open a drive then use the address bar but I don't reckon it as the virus sits right at the root of the hard drive, disable system restore and then just install Microsoft Security Essentials after you activate the windows, and update it, Kaspersky can kiss my furry butt as it's useless these days. Once security essentials is up to date, you can perform a full system scan to get rid of the virus. As for the folder, it has been infected by the virus and has mutated like the people you see in those zombie movies.

These viruses are pretty insidious and normal antivirus programs cannot do squat to get rid of these. As a last ditch effort, try using combofix, although it's not meant for newbies. Saved me from a windows reinstall at my office PC.

hey guys! problem fixed!! here's the method : ]

    • Go to the command prompt.
    • Go to the drive where your hidden files are located.
    • Type the following: attrib -s -h /s /d *.* (this will unhide all your files that have been hidden by the virus) i.e. I:\> attrib -s -h /s /d *.*

and it friggin worked tho thnx for the tryin to help guys
