Default PS3 Gaming system buying help needed.

Hey guys I'm gonna need some help in buying a PS3 with accessories, a standalone monitor, speakers and a UPS.

AFAIK a ps3 160gb costs around 32K and the mod costs 3K. I'll need the console with the mod and other essential accessories and the items listed above. So my questions are:

    Which monitor should I buy?
    Which speakers should I buy?
    Which UPS should I buy?
What essential accessories will I need?

Please list the prices of the items and give suggestions.
My total budget is around 50K and I'll probably get the console in the first week of July.

Will the mod cause any problems? Will I be able to play all the games available on the the PS3, both new and old? Will I be able to play mkv and mp4 files directly from a thumb drive? Will the system last atleast 3 years?

    Please help guys.

ok lemme address ur queries one by one:

-modding is 3k???????? wtf, u can do it urself at home dont pay those lousy shopkeepers to do what u can do. buy it bring it home type "how to Kmeaw" on youtube or google, the tutorials will walk u through it.
-u can buy viewsonic or samsung monitors, least 19 inch that'll do the job just fine, those may come around 10k. just make sure it has HDMI support
-speakers: go to elephant road or stadium market, ask them for compatible speakers for DVD players, specify that i need speakers with red and white jacks, cheap Chinese brands will cost u around 2k, dont worry they may b cheap but they are sturdy.
    -800va apollo ups can support a PS3 and a xbox 360 at a time. costs 3200tk
-as u r getting a hdmi monitor u'll need hdmi cable, comes for 1500-2000tk. get an external HDD 4000tk. i cant think of any more accessories that u may need.

for more accurate price of UPS,monitor, external HDD u can visit www.ryanscomputers.com

u are all set. i bought my monitor 2 years back now may b prices have dropped, if u can get one cheaper than 10k, get an additional controller.

no modding does not cause any probs, yes u can play almost all the games, some games like portal 2 are unplayable ( or is it? i have to stay in touch more). to play mkv and mp4 files there are procedures i think, but why would u need ur ps3 to play vdo? u can hook up the monitor with PC and ps3 at the same time and switch between display with a touch of a button, so play the vdos from PC.

The PS3-320 will cost you 33k now. The white one which is almost impossible to get hold off, will set you back another 500-3k depending on the nature of the shopkeeper. The mod should be done by the shopkeeper free of cost and along with that they are bound to provide you 5 free game copies on your portable media / the PS3 itself.

Do yourself a favour and get a 21.5" at least. Monitor prices have officially increased by 3grands so you could be a little bit unlucky there. Try to get something that has an HDMI port and even if u end up with only a DVI port get an HDMI male to DVI-male cable to get the best out of your PS3.

I dunno what sort of speakers you are looking for, but anything that accepts a 3.5mm/RCA cable can be connected to the PS3 with the AV cable supplied along with the PS3. If your speakers take a 3.5 mm input then just be sure to get yourself a 3.5mm male to RCA female conveter.

Rangs UPSs are the best atm. Get an 800VA.

You may need an HDMI cable - 300 bucks or a DVI-HDMI that costs 500/- depending on the type of monitor you get. You may need to get the 3.5 to RCA converter. Lastly, u'll need a portable HDD.

yep u'll need one original disk to be in the ps3 for most of the games, even though some games will boot just fine without a disk but may cause problems, u can find cheap original games in clickbd

Default Re: PS3 Gaming system buying help needed.

Well, PS3 are quite available in BD......
    PS3 160GB = 27500tk
    PS3 320GB = 32000tk
but u got to add another 7000 for an original game and a portable hdd..............
and phat 80gb are available but rare.....u'll get em at sumthing like 28-29Gs............
and be sure to get the ps3 OFW below 3.55

but i wudnt suggest fat versions if u plan to JB it.........
120gb and 250 are only seen in rifles square not bashundhara....

there are differences betweem the models, you shud keep that in mind...........
40gb, 60gb and 80gb are alike and have high brick rate in terms of JB .....not to say more heat and more.....oooh and theyre backward compatible.......
120gb and 250gb are quite to present ps3s but they have two different chips for blu-ray and gaming which produces negligible more heat and takes a bit(only bit) more energy.......
the ps3 160gb and 320gb are your best bet....i myself have a 320gb and its GOOD......
and you dnt need any extra money for white, i.e. if u find any.........

I'm actually worried about the state of the PS3 scene. The new master keys have still not been found, and no ways have been found as of yet to play RF:Armageddon and F3ar. Maybe PS3 is turning into a locked platform again...

well...its nothing to worry, bcoz the big dogs are at work and they have achieved a quite lot....they are not raping the scene bcoz there are no new games......BIG HACKS hit generally after release if exclusive or die hard title like Kilzone 3.....

You could get a 2nd hand original disk from SOF for 1k-1.5k. They have a lot of 2nd hand disks for sale ranging from 1k-2.5k.

@fahim_sinister , you do need to pay extra for the white one in most parts of Asia, although both are priced the same officially. I got a black and a white PS3 from Malaysia and even over there they charge you an additional 20-40 ringitts for the white one. And of course all shops here follow the same trend bcz they buy them from HK/Singapore/Malaysia. You can call Gamesource at B.City or Plug and Play at rifles if you 're confused.

1 week ageo ekta white PS3 nilam ekta friend er. Plug and Play addtional 3k chai for the white 1 and Gamesource 500TK. extra nise.

I prefer the white 1 so much bcz i had both and the white looks exquisite, elegant and definitely seems to be built better than the black.

    Check below, these are mine.

Do you own both of these? Why would you need 2? One for CFW, the other for online?

@faisal.amir.bd , Well, i had both, but you got me wrong there, i'm not such a waster. I brought both. The black one was taken by a friend who is paying me in installments.

I have a 360 too, can 't afford to have so many consoles. 1 PS3 and 1 XBOX is good enough for my purpose. I don 't go online, i enjoy playing a game only as long as i 'm not done seeing the end.

Sorry, my mistake, ami bhul kore 'i have both likhe felsi'. Correcting.

I just had a question, everyone of you have suggested an external hdd, I am totally new to this "console scene", so i couldnt understand the thing? Why would i need an hdd for? Isnt 320 gb enough for storage purpose? It might be a very silly question, but i really want to know, cuz I m planning on buying one.

Thanks for the reply's guys. But do you think it would be worth spending all this money for the ps3? will it allow hassle free gaming for the next 3 years?

Btw please suggest me some 22 inch monitors for the PS3.

Oh and I have a 2007 model xbox360 which is suffering from rrod for the past 1 year. Anyway to fix it for good (or for atleast 6 months)? If not, will I be able to sell it? For how much?

    THANX

Well chances are that you either have a weird taste or you haven 't held them both physically. The White easily makes the black one look inferior and cheap, and there is no reason sm1 seeing both 'f them upfront would choose the later over the former. An additional 500 buck for it is easily justifiable and two 'f my friends who saw them both at my place did when they bought their own. It is that much more aesthetically pleasing, honestly.

And about the argument of one being priced more than the other. Why don 't you call up Exclusive games zone and ask them plz? Amar faltu information provide korar obbhash nai. Last month e koyta friend er console kenar jonno B.City gesi hishab kore bolte parbo na. Market er obostha mokhosto hoye gese.

As said, that depends a lot on you. There still are ppl who play on a PS2. But the PS3 sure will keep you safe for a year and a half or two.
If you ask me, i'm so eaten up by UC2 that for this 1 bloody game alone, spending 30k on the PS3 seems worth to me (sorry if im luring you towards it but just can 't help). I didn 't know what i had been missing until i got 1.

As for the monitor the ASUS MS228H is undoubtedly the best looking monitor available, but unfortunately the merit list ends there. If you 're looking for something that has better text visibility, clarity and all-over more balanced and pleasing for the eye then you 'll be better off heading out with a Samsung in mind. But try not to get something less than 1080p, you'll regret it later. In fact budget beshi thakle boltam to get a TV instead bcz that 's what actually complements the consoles. I used to play on my 360 and PS3 hooked up to a 21.5" LCD, and i used to hate the graphical detail compared to what i got out 'f my rig. After getting a Bravia for the set-up, my perceptions immediately changed and i felt that 60k on the two consoles were definitely worth an investment now.

RROD fix korleo, i never saw the fixed ones holding up for long.
