    Default 36"monitor-4096x2160res from eizo

    Eizo has
    unveiled a new 36-inch PC
    monitor with a massive
    4096x2160 pixel
    resolution. The DuraVision
    FDH3601 monitor is not
    exactly affordable,
    however. It costs 36,000
    US dollars.

Horribly overpriced product. It would have been reasonable if they priced it somewhere around 10-15k (yes, considering it is based on a new technology).

Ten years is a LONG LONG timespan. Then 100+k may easily be an industry standard. So why not a consumer standard of at LEAST 10-20k? The Red Epic 617 can already record 28k footages (upto 30 fps). In case you have already come to a conclusion: "This guy is probably out of his mind", check out a 16-bit frame weighing in at 1.46 GB. Yes, you read it right. You let this camera shoot for a second at 30 fps and you will have approx 44 Gigs of data to work with.

That depends on what you do. If you work with 4k footages, working smoothly may increase your productivity, resulting in more profit. That means you may even make 40k more within a few months. That will repay you for the investment.

Or else, someone might even think, "These are all worthless things to do. I can buy 60 Metric Tons of rice (@45 Tk/kg) with this much money, which will keep my tummy happy for 54.8 years at a consumption rate of 3 kg (!)/day. Half down the consumption rate and it will cover your lifespan... বসে বসে খাওয়া যাকে বলে।"

Eizo have 1600p 30" monitors which are around $7000 retail. They also make monitors which are priced above $100,000, custom made for hospitals and such. So all of you thinking these are bought for showing off, youre wrong. They are made for professionals who need this kind of stuff. This one though is overpriced simply because there arent any retail monitors sporting these specs. Still, im sure 15 - 20K is justified for now
