    Default My Summer Upgrade!!!!

Hey guys it's been a long time, since I've open such a thread! Now that I've got the funds, I would gladly need some suggestions on my upgrades!

Here are the things, in particular:

-CPU(I'm favoring the AMD Phenom-II this time, BE edition too )
-GPU(a second hand more than powerful 4830 would do!)
-MOBO(coming from a former X38 chipset, I really dont want to get a mATX board, please recommend some 880, 890 AMD boards!)
    -RAM(I have the A-DATA 2x2GB DDR3 1333MHz in mind!)
-CASING(V6/Dokker/or anything better than this ?)
-SOUND CARD(I've used a Xonar D1, & loved it!, but I this time I wanna go for the X-Fi...or there any Xonars left in BD ?)
MONITOR(I need a 21-22' HD monitor, how about that Asus 21.5' HD- that everyone swears about! ?)

The only parts I'm leaving behind are my PSU, Harddisk, & my Linksys router, oh! & my UPS!

Budget for the monitor is excluded from the total budget which is more like 36-38K!

I'll buy it after 6th! I really want this PC to be special, since my compared to my last one, it was really something for that time!

    Thanks!

    Proc--AMD Phenom II 955 BE 3.2 GHz--------------------------------12.5k
    Mobo--MSI 890GXM-G65----------------------------------------------10K.........sry...mATX....
    GPU--GTX 460 1GB --------------------------------------------------15K
    RAM--Apecer 2x2GB -------------------------------------------------3.2k
    Case--TT Dokker + 4 12cm TT Thunderblade + 4x 12cm fan grills------4.5k+2.4k+600
    sound card-------nothing
    monitor---------Asus MS228------------------------------------15k

My recomendation...it goes over your budget....but anything below a gtx460 is not worth it...

about the mobo i would suggest a 890fxa-ud5 rom gigabyte...but that will be 15k...the msi one over is mATX...although it has USB3.0 and SATA3.0....and if you can get it from outside....a 990x mobo will be awesome

v6 is not available any more....you have to get the dokker....and if you can persuade them properly...you can get the dokker for 4.5k...4.6k is the dealer price....and it has only one fan preinstalled so you will need 4 thunder blades.....also dont buy the cheap Chinese fans....thunder blades are awesome compared to those....i mean you will need the long cables....also thunder blades are quite powerful...so without the grills holding the other side...you might cut off some cables or even your finger if you are not careful...the front fan does not need a grill

And X-Fi titanium is not available in the market any more....so you have to wait.

and the monitor is the best....not as good as a 120HZ monitor...but ok i guess....in my opinion nothing beats a CRT in color and smoothness.......

Get a cheapo athlon paired with a 990FX for the moment I guess, bulldozer is on its way.
Anyhow here's what I would suggest, no need no spend extra dough on BE.

Get yourself a non BE, x6 or x4, your call.
990FX recommended for upgradability, but a 890FX would do fine.
Most AMD processors atm dont benefit from higher ram clocks, so no worries of getting something epic, just get the standard 1333Mhz ram, bump the volts and run them at lower timings which usually amd procs prefer.
If you're gonna overclock dipanzan the main thing you should bump is the HT link speed and the NB frequency I have mine set and 2800 and believe me it makes a difference. For a GPU I would suggest 6950 1GB, very good card, decent price and amazing crossfire scaling if you are interested in that. Other components are up to you, Id suggest to get a sound card, preferably xonar from asus but the X-fi's are great too, for speakers I highly suggest microlab solo-7 if you get good sound cards.
    FTW!!!!!!!!!!

Dipanzan ektu wait korte parle chorom hoto, once bulldozer hits, prices will insanely come falling down. But if you really do need a rig right now, get yourself an athlon and a 990FX for future upgrade-ability.

Other components are up to you, Id suggest to get a sound card, preferably xonar from asus but the X-fi's are great too, for speakers I highly suggest microlab solo-7 if you get good sound cards.
    thanks Zulkaaa
as I said, I'll be getting the GPU later... & after avas bhaiya's suggestion I'm pretty much decided on the P-II X4 955BE & the msi board!
about the sound card, I'll gladly take the Titanium if it's available...& I'm more into HPs than speakers!

A fan grill will avoid the contact between any wire and fan wings. However, that's not that necessary if u can manage those cables near to the fan wings.
and u can't alter the RPM of thunderblade. U can only monitor the rpm if u connect the fan in motherboard.
