Default A Minor Upgrade , Advice and Suggestion Please !

Heya, I was wondering if u guys could advise me on a minor upgrade for my current build.

I have two choices in mind , budget is 22k.

    Option: 1

    A better GPU + a 500 GB HDD

    Option: 2

CPU Cooler (TT Frio preferably) , a 500 GB HDD , 2 GB RAM , an Optical Drive, a Chassis.

Please suggest the one I should go for and if it's possible please state the prices too.

    Thanks,

    Blaze

Onek din por ekta HW er thread e dhuklam.

I'd definitely go with option 1. As, u'r current GPU is too weak for gaming, and the weakest point of u'r PC.

In option 2, what's the point of pushing i7 to more than 3.4GHz ? I mean it's enough.
2GB more RAM ? Well, good choice, but GPU comes first.
2nd optical drive ? Talking about BD-ROM ? If not, then do u frequently need to copy/write more than 1 DVD at a time ? :O
Chassis ? Which one u'r using now ? Depends on u'r taste.

    But, 1TB (500GB + 500GB) is kinda... necessary now-a-days & u really need a good GPU, so ah... option 1, IMO.
U might consider buying 1TB HDD btw (price ? "=.=)
& sorry, can't suggest u GPU, no idea.

You should go with Option 1, something like this:

    Gigabyte GTX460 - 15k
    Delta 500W PSU - 5.5k

Total 20.5k You might just be able to bargain it down to 20k, and use the other 2k to get a 500GB HDD, but you might need to add around 500tk. You won't regret it i can tell ya

Option 1 does seem nice , is it okay to go with NVIDIA ? Can't my current PSU run ur suggested GPU ?

The current Chassis I'm using now is a Delux , plain and simple but pretty big , no appealing vents or scopes for some LED / Neon show off :S . As a matter of fact I do write DVDs quite often and my current Writer is busted T.T

U got any suggestions for a better GPU within the budget ?

Absolutely okay. & no. Instead, I'd have suggested even more powerful PSU.

    Ouch. =.=" That's necessary then.
No, there's nothing else than 460. 560Ti isn't available ATM, which is slower but eats lower power.

    not 480 but 570 & 580 are available

    Gigabyte 580 = 37k
    ASUS 570 = 31k
The 570 is equivalent to 480 but it eats less power & is efficient....

1st of all, 480 isn't available, and even if it's available, your budget won't allow you to get one. And a 400W Delta is not at all enough for a GTX460, or if you don't like Nvidia cards, you can also go for an HD6850, costs the same

Definitely option 1, you'll need a new PSU though.

And 560ti isn't available yet, but it is MORE powerful and consumes the same amount of power as the 460 I think.

Okay then a 460 or 6850 would be the GPU choice in hand and hopefully the remainder can get me the PSU needed + a HDD.

I could sell my current PSU.. ( Which might not be sold out at all...)

Sell your PSU and buy these. Whats your screen resolution?

@Rakin , it lost some life thats true, but since the 500 series is also Fermi he'll still be seeing some decent improvements through drivers for the foreseeable future. Like the recently released 275.27, they are epic!

It just consumes 10 more watts than GTX 460. But that aside I believe that if you're not going to overclock HD6850 is the way to go and most definitely forget about the other upgrades you need a psu + Gpu upgrade asap.
    FTW!!!!!!!!!!

1440x900 , from what I've been seeing , I guess it would be best to go with GTX 460 I guess...
