Intro :
Since , learning the game in the house through the forum wont make it so easy in a game , a pub game , or watever it is , u must need practise even to play a pub game in order not to be called a noob !!
after reading the begginers guide to dota , u have to practice this, now how can u do this .
The best option to play would be playing against AI (Artificial Intelligence) well known as bots.
1st of all u always see , initially what the AI buys , does , movements and the way they play and i am pretty sure u ll b able to master any AI map just by playing it a couple of times .
Creeping problems :
Some people have creeping problems , they might not b really good with the last hit , u ll b able to notice from the AI heroes the way they creep . u will notice they move along the lane and suddenly when a creep is dying it attack's it at the last moment, whether it is a creep from the opponent or a allied creep. if u kill an allied creep , it is known as denying which gives ur opponent lesser exp ( experience for the increase of the level of heroes )
Keeping on practicing on AI maps might not make u a pro in last hitting , but u might already know how it is done and gradually u ll come to know how to do it perfectly . ( practice makes a person perfect , so u gotto practice to learn this creeping issue ). U will son come to know u are a pro by practicing this .how well you can money shot and deny. This is very important! No money, no honey.
Initial Items :
Initially when u start a team game a 5v5 , u will start off with 600 gold after u have picked ur hero . The most common initial item can either be a circlet , 2 ancient tango of essification ,and 4 ironwood branches . now , u can always have a different built and if u are playing intel heroes which need mana as a part of spamming in lane initially instead of buying 2 ironwood branches then u can go for clarity potion , u can also buy a flask of saphire instead of 2 ironwood branches, if u think u might end up fighting in lane at level 1 , which doesent really happen i the AI case though
.
Making items in General :
Gneral items , items which are most commonly made by a lot of heroes are like Power treads , Boots of Travel , Hood of defiance (in case u have spammers ) , Black king bar ( if there is a lot of disablers and u are being disabled during the battle ) ,Klens dagger ( used for initiation mostly and also can escape, if u use shadow to escape from ur enemies and then blink or get more movement speed and then blink , as u dont have to get hit by ur opponents for the last 3 seconds to use klens dagger ) . A empty bottle to ruincontrol and to get out of battle and use ur bottle and go back to the battle to help ur allies , and finally there is always the most common items like wraith bands only for agility heroes , bracers mostly for all heroes as it is good with all heroes , null talisman is good with heroes which u need a lot of mana like Zeus , tiny , lina , or silencers intel etc.
Items :
Now items may differ from heroes , a team with a early game radiance a mekanism , an arcane and 2 guinsoo scythe of vyse is always gonno the b the winning team . as a team u also need these items to win .
now , an initiator can always make tank items like Heart of tarrasque and assault . intel heroes make arcane or mekanism and guinsoo .
and the carry hero gets items which are really good late game like satanic, butterfly , eye of skadi , mjolnir , Boots of travel , burizae , monkey king bar etc.
Team work :
Now , this is certainly something u need more than anything . a team with 5 pro players without co-ordination and a team with full co-ordination but no skills or a lot of experience may beat the pros easily just from their co-ordination and team work.
To win a Game :
What is the difference between playing DotA for fun and playing the game competitively? The answer lies in the objectives of the player. playing for fun , wouldnt say anything about that ; its meaning varies among different people. But playing competitively has only one objective and that is to win the game, and win it with a team and as a team. DotA is not about who gets these godlike streaks, or who, on the other hand, repeatedly dies every battles .not abt you or me, it is abtour team. It doesnt matter what items you get, and what you werent able to; it doesnt matter how many times your courier got killed. Only the outcome matters.
For a team to have real teamwork is not so easy. Real teamwork begins in your mind. You have to play for the right reason, that is, do your part in a team for it to win. When playing the game, your mind should be free of any hang-up, you should focus, and really work for the team, and at the same time let the team work for you. Remember that DotA, like almost all other games, are simply role-playing activities. When you join one, you have to let go of who you are in real life, and just concentrate on it, especially if you truly want to win.
Competitive DotA just boils down in doing anything and everything for your team to win. Everybody has their role to play. The game begins during the drafting/picking phase (in an extended league mode game). Here, a team already has to make decisions. But the whole point of this phase is to answer the question, what heroes should we use to get that win? (or what heroes should we ban?) At this phase, heroes picked are assigned to different players, and usually, the best hero of the team gets to use that hero.
Once the everybody has a hero, its about time that each player should perform his role. The player should know what his hero is for, and what his hero does best for the team and proceed to do just this during the game.
DotA is a balanced game but this doesnt mean the heroes are equal. This is the very reason why DotA is not a 1v1 game, but rather a 5v5. Heroes have different strengths and weaknesses, but in a good team, all these would be balanced, complemented by the other heroes in that team. DotA is really all about roles, and to be a good team player, you just have to stick to what your hero does best.
While playing DotA competitively is not exactly about having fun, winning a game as a team can surely be fun, but more importantly, fulfilling .
Public Games :
This is the lowest form of all DotA games. Retards are everywhere making it so hard to have any teamwork. Its just so frustrating when you're stuck in a team where no one wants to share his or her courier, where everyone insists in soloing mid,or other lane and want solo everywhere etc. While a good player can of course lead his team to victory, it would still be hard if the enemies are just more coordinated than your teammates. What can you do if you're stuck with people who keep dying? Well, you can quit that game and go look for friends to play with. Because playing alone in public games gets very close to being a waste of time.but it is always good for practice .
Perfection :
Now to get all this to perfection, u can always see replays . Replays in this forum , i mean there is plenty of replays in this forum which will help in learning , so much or u can also download from other places , where u can get replay of better teams like team MYM , SK , VP , XCN , KS , etc .
i hope this guide will help , as this is my first guide
well , i had to read a lot of guides for this.
thanQ u everyone
