Most people think time is like a river, that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I really am, and why I say this. Come, and I will tell you a tale like none you have ever heard.

Spec Ops gets spring 2012 release, new trailer
Spec Ops: The Line Video2K’s confirmed a spring 2012 launch for Spec Ops: The Line, as the embargo on new impressions on the game lifts after a near 18 month underground period.
The trailer, which is a far cry away from the Bjork of 2009, has you play as US Delta Force soldier Captain Walker to save the 33rd squad of the US Infantry following a sandstorm that destroys Dubai.
Its story, according to 2K, is one that’ll “move players beyond the simple conflicts of good-versus-bad.”
The glamour of Dubai “provides the perfect backdrop to play out Spec Ops: The Line’s deep and complex narrative. This bold endeavor harnesses 2K’s pedigree of creating fascinating stories, settings and worlds to create an aggressive narrative and environment that you won’t find in other games on the market,” said 2K president Christoph Hartmann.
“Wartime narratives evoke emotion like few things else in our culture. Players will fight through this hostile environment in Spec Ops: The Line, creating a raw and unique video game experience.”
Get the video below and some previews below. The Line will release on PS3, 360 and PC.

Spec Ops: The Line Extended Gameplay Footage
This collection of scenes from Spec Ops: The Line shows off the beginning of the game and some of the more interesting mechanics.
You’ll see Walker using sand to take out enemies, commanding his troops to attack, and even get a glimpse at the sandstorms and how much they affect combat. There's a full seven and a half minutes of gameplay in total, which does include some minor spoilers, so avoid this if you want to play The Line free of pre-conceptions.

Blood, gore, intense violence and more detailed for Spec Ops: The Line
The Entertainment Software Rating Board has released their rating summary for the upcoming multiplatform title, Spec Ops: The Line. The tactical third-person shooter for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 got tagged with an M (for Mature) rating due to contents relating to blood and gore, intense violence and strong language. Full rating summary provided by the ESRB below:
Spec Ops: The Line is being developed by Yager Development and published by 2K Games. The tactical third-person shooter will be released for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in North America sometime this year. This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of a special operations soldier who battles enemies in a storm-ravaged Dubai. Players use machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, and grenades to kill enemy soldiers in frenetic combat. Battles are highlighted by realistic gunfire, screams of pain, slow-motion effects (during headshots);injured characters emit blood splashes when hit, and continue to incur damage when killed. Players can also “execute” or incapacitate enemies at close range (e.g., punching soldiers in the face or snapping their necks). Some weapons cause damage such as dismembered limbs or scattered body parts; a handful of sequences depict severely burned or mutilated corpses. During the course of the game, players have the ability to shoot unarmed civilians or open fire on angry mobs. Cutscenes also include intense instances of violence: bloodied characters getting interrogated and/or executed; soldiers getting shot in the head at point-blank range. The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “a*shole” can be heard in the dialogue.
