How about a GTX 590? 6990 would be good too though, don't go for a 6970cfx, single cards are always better

I would suggest 6990, and yes your CPU will bottleneck, but you'll overclock, won't you?

yap. I will. I already told abt sum custom cooling solution. Its obviously 4 oc. N hd 6990 e bttr i think. Gtx 590 kintam bt its a bit slow. N ya i knw cfx or sli e onek issue ase. Single cards r better. Bt i7 950 oc korle ki hd 6990 tackle korte parbe? I7 960 to bd te nai. Amazon e dekhlam i7 960 $299. jak amazon oita. R eta bd. So ki ki product r price ki ki keu aktu bolte parba? Like i7 950, then kon x58 ta best hobe, then kon brand ram, then hdd, then case, monitor. Egular price n brand.

Not always. 6990 is roughly the same as 6970 cfx, the only difference between the two is that 6970 will eat some more power, take more slots and in turn be faster. So if you want more performance, 6970cfx is a better option, or if you want to save $$, get 6950cfx.

Default Re: Some suggestion needed about buying a pc

    Here is my suggestion:

    Intel Core I7 950 @ 24K
    Asus Sabertooth X58 @ 17K
    Gigabyte HD 6990 @ 60K
    A-Data XMS 3 x 2GB 1666mhz @ 13.5K
    Samsung F3 1TB @ 4.5K
    Asus 24x DVD RW @ 1.6K
    Thermaltake Frio @ 4.5K
    XFX 750W @ 13K
    Thermaltake Element G @ 11K
    Samsung BX2231/Asus MS228H @ 14.5K/15.K

    Total 1,64,100tk/1,63,600

P.S. You should buy at least 1666mhz ram to get 4.0ghz+ stable OC from your cpu, 12gb ram is not needed. Don't buy the Samsung 2tb because it's f2 model and runs at 5400rpm. If you can't find the xfx psu then go for tt tp 750w or delta 750w.

A 6990 is still dual cards running internal CFX. But dual 6950s Flashed to 6970s in CFX will beat HD 6990. U will have crossfire issues with either setups. If u have enough budget then go for dual 6970s if not then dual 6950s will be the same when flashed. Considering u'll take the risk of flashing the card. Also adding go for a Full tower Chassis.

not same the 6970 cfx will be more powerful & consume more power too.

Better go for TT TP XT 875W. Though 775W will suffice but its always good to leave some room.

6990 falls somewhere in the middle of 6950 and 6970 CFX. I mentioned in that post that 6970CFX is faster

Forget about CF/SLI issues, of course single GPU's are preferable for having zero issues, but multi-gpu compatibility has come a long way now. Also, you might consider a 6950 CFX, even without the flash, 2x 6950's are not that far behind 2x 6970.

Finally, i would even recommend a 2600 (non K) over i7 930/950/970. Considering you can overclock a 2600 non K to around 4ghz, at that speed it will be faster than a 4.5ghz i7 while producing less than half the heat. I dont understand why some people here claim a non K 2600 cant be overclocked, it can be but not as much -.-

I7 2600 can be overclocked to 4.1ghz. 750w psu te may b prob hobe na jodi cfx na kren, or tt xt 775w niye niyen.
Oh, theres no b3 stepping mobo available in BD, but some B61 and H67 b3 mobo are coming but no sign of any P67 b3. You can't OC on a H67 board.
