I wonder what the story of this one's going to be... Doom III had parted ways in terms of the story the original Doom had, if this game becomes something like a Zombie vill shoot out fest I'd suggest ID to contact Capcom and name this as Resident Evil and not Doom, if there aren't aliens involved in it it's not Doom.

id don't need to learn from Capcom or Valve. They invented a game a long long ago which is the inspiration of most of the FPS games now-a-days. Just imagine the feeling of Doom I & Doom II from early 90's if anyone can. Doom 3 was EPIC too. Its not only about zombies. Imagine the environment of previous Doom's. Doom was one of the best horror game of all time. Let id do it alone, I am pretty sure they will give us another kick-¤¤¤ FPS title.

Call me a pessimist, but when was the last time id developed a good game? Doom 3 was mediocre at best, and let's not even go into the huge disappointment that was Rage.
Who said anything about ID needing a hand? All I was pointing to that if it's only Zombies I'm going to shoot in an Urban Territory with some BS story then I might as well play it in the name of Resident Evil or House of The Dead or something, not by the name of Doom cause it'll be a total disgrace to the Doom franchise.

Now, id Software has taken a moment out of its busy schedule, taking to Twitter to officially respond to the rumours.
According to id design director Matthew Hooper: “Those images have nothing to do with what you’re gonna see in Doom 4.”
“When we officially show things, you’ll see awesome,” he says. “When we officially show things, fans will be happy.”

John Carmack didn't actually show Doom 4 during his QuakeCon keynote yesterday, but he did offer a status update – along with the tautological pronouncement that the shooter will be "done when it's done."
"When it's done" will be a little sooner, as Carmack revealed just how devoted id Software is to its development. The mobile games division, responsible forWolfenstein RPG, Rage HD and other mobile games, has been shut down, to shift focus to big games, including Doom 4. In fact, following Doom 3 BFG, all of id will focus on Doom 4.
