Default ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1 GB DirectCu SLI Review

    Introduction :
I've got these beasts a few days ago & thought to post a review.

    Packaging :
The ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 Arrives in a green box. It comes wid a sticker on top saying "50% voltage tweak" & lists the main features of the card.Heres a photo of the boxes.

    The Accessory Bundle includes:
    1)Molex to 6-pin power converter
    2)DVI-HDMI Converter
    4)A Leather CD/DVD Bag
    5)DVI-VGA Converter
    6)Driver CD & Manual

    The Card:

As the name says this card uses ASUS's DirectCu cooler that claims to be 20% cooler than stock coolers.Heres some pictures of the cards. As you can see the cards cooler exceeds about 1 inch over the PCB.It is also a bit more fat than the stock which is why i had trouble to put em in SLI. I had to fit the lower card (card 2) in first then the upper 1 (card 1).The Drivers out of the box didnt support SLI so i had to grab the latest one frm the site. It was Forceware 266.58.

Whats your custom fan profile settings?

I don't get above 75 (65 in most games) unless of course its furmark, then its around 84. And how come you have Advanced PhysX off? You made for it, use it

And don't take the cards to 900mhz, there are people who reported that their cards were Furmark stable at 900mhz, but eventually died during normal use.

Also, which drivers did you use? The recent ones have substantial differences between them, and don't hesitate to try Quadro drivers

Edit: BTW, CODBO has some effects disabled on AMD cards. Don't know why though. and lol tumi VSync on kore CODBO bench korso

Custom fan profile is like 80C mark hit korlei fan 100% & normally 50% thake. Its like every 10C er jonno 10% fan bare on each card.2nd card e 100% hit kore na but first ta kore.I use stock clocks for normal use & stock fan profile & using Forceware 266.58 WHQL.I turned off PhysX bcoz to compare wid AMD cards. CODBO has effects disabled thats true alright.900MHz just 10min stability test korsi aar use kori nai akhono.Quadro drivers e diffrence pabo?Paile to DL kortasi akhoni.

Apparently right now I wish I had an ATI card. Stalker Cs and COP sucks on Nvidia cards, you have to mod the game and disable two settings, odd thing is gpu usage doesnt cross 50 60 % with everything maxed out but framerate is on the low side .
So I had to use some mods and disable SSAO.
You should be getting more fps in metro 2033 with those settings. I get more than what you get in that game ! The min 10 is the game issue, you have to force Windows DEP to reduce the frameskipping. Apparently some people complained that metro 2033 suffered from severe micro stuttering with GTX 460 sli. This is why its better to have one card which is more powerful, rather than 2 weaker cards that perform better together .
    FTW!!!!!!!!!!

Thats good enough, you won't be hitting 80C so nothing to worry about. The cards stock clock is at 775MHz so you don't need to OC much, you can try 850 (2 bumps in voltage probably) for 24/7 use

Lot of people say that Quadro gives better IQ, I personally didn't test them myself, I only use them when there's a performance increase. If you play DA2 then you must install the 267.59 drivers, or else just stick with this WHQL for now, there'll be a new driver around Crysis 2's release

amar tou tomar settings e 10 e kono shomoi drop kore nai :S 4x msaa dile hoi.
    ar max time 40 te.
But yeah I still say that you shouldve gone for 6870 cfx, I dont know how your rating the drivers to be better than AMD, I would say they are about the same, just nvidia having a slight edge, right now AMD doesnt slack off with the drivers as they used to with HD 4 series.
Try stalker and lemme know kemon jai, I think youll be able to play it well, stalker sucks with the GTX 5 series for some odd reason.

    XR engine sucks
    Willl try it dont worry..

Lot of people say that Quadro gives better IQ, I personally didn't test them myself, I only use them when there's a performance increase. If you play DA2 then you must install the 267.59 drivers, or else just stick with this WHQL for now, there'll be a new driver around Crysis 2's release

btw or Metro te kintu VSync On.
Vsync on er jonno nah, Ive seen reviews where metro 2033 is unplayable with anything below a GTX 470 in sli with those settings !.
GTX 580 just gets about 42 at those settings after overclocked that is !

Quadro drivers (well youll have to softmod the card first) gives you boosts in 3d rendering capabilities aka Stream Computing.
    FTW!!!!!!!!!!

You need VSync + Triple Buffering on. I just played the game at 1920x1080, no DOF AA or Tess. 35-60 FPS No Vsync
