Default S60/Android Mobile for under 16K!

Hey guys, I'm on the verge of buying a S60 series or an Android powered cell!
As mentioned in the title, the budget would be more or less like 16K.

I'm currently using a Nokia N82. A really decent phone, it has got everything I need, but I would really like to buy something with a bigger display! My current 2.4' doesn't cut it & it really sucks under day-light! Though the camera is awesome for a 5MP & the Xenon flash really stands out!

Now, what would be my options ?

bro, my advice to u...dont buy symbian. symbian is a dead platform...if u can add a bit more...just 2k to ur budget u can get LG Optimus One. It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo(will be upgraded to 2.3 Gingerbread soon), with 3.2 capacitive screen and 600MHz processor,512RAM. Bought this cell myself and have been using this for just about a month now...and I am sooooo in love with it. u hav so many games and apps that u wud b missing if u r on symbian!!
The best thing about this cell is that u dont have to root it for getting updated version of android. most other phones which are even faster and pricier than this dont get official updates and still run 2.1,some even 1.6!
Yes, i know LG isnt the brand which first comes to mind when thinking of buying a cell...but do the research. this phone has got very good reviews from all major reviewers online...and its the fastest selling phone in LG's history selling 1million in 40 days! but on the down side it dosnt hae any flash and only a 3.2MP camera.which dosnt bother me coz i dnt take pics much, but u must b used to ur N82's xenon, lol.

    checkout the review here: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_one_p500-3516.php

Another option is the samsung galaxy spica which costs about the same, however it is a bit old now...but it has a faster processor (800Mhz) than the Optimus one(600MHz).but again this only runs on android 2.1....
chek it out on gsmarena: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i570...spica-2965.php

so the decision is upto u...but i would suggest u chose wisely n dont waste 16K on anything running symbian.better save up and get an android powered phone or an iPhone(which is way pricier than android!)..... once u get the taste of app store or the android market, trust me u wont regret!

    hey bhaiya thanks a bunch!!!
& ya I'm used to that Xenon flash, my current one does take some decent photos when compared to some cameras!

both are 18K right ? so which one would best suite my needs, the LG or the Samsung. I do play a lot of games in my mobile.

Edit: Just compared both the phones!

I agree with dhUro, try increasing your budget a bit more, and get the Optimus One. You won't regret.

The Spica has a faster CPU & 16M vs the 256K colours & the slower CPU on the LG! But on the other hand the LG is upgradeable to 2.3 & is currently running 2.2! Oh & a GPU is also listed on the LG, but none for the Spica.

Now I'm really confused I guess the LG would better suit my needs, but I'm worried about the 256K screen

Edit: @dhUro : bhaiya can you tell me the price of both the sets ?

Galaxy Ace asche bd market e? Ace is awesome, with some mods it will become one hell of a beast ^^

I would recommend getting a Galaxy Ace at any cost xP. It got a vry decent gpu, cpu, cam, looks and almost perfect for me. It's selling lyk a hot cake, and the more the users of a phone, the more mods/themes/tweaks etc u'll get. Check mod, custom roms, benchmark scores, etc in forums eg. xda-developers...Developers support matters the most IMO.

My spica would have been a crap if it wasn't for samdroid forum, now i have it oc'd @ 1000mhz with a lot of mods.

Default Re: S60/Android Mobile for under 16K!

    Don't buy Samsung mobiles,their OS-softs are CRAP!

And I would go for Nokia 5800 or 5530
    Both are S60v5

Ok, here is the thing... i bought my optimus from singapore....i cant give u an exact price of these sets in BD as I live in singapore currently (for studies )
but approximate values are given below...

    LG Optimus One ~18000Tk
    Samsung Spica ~ 18000Tk
    Samsung Ace ~ 25000Tk

most probably u wont get Ace anywhere in BD as it just got released..n peleo it would be VERY highly priced...than its actual MRP.Spica is also out of production as it is very old...but khujle 2-1ta paoa jete pare....
anyway, u can search fr the LG one in eastern plaza...there is a place called Alif mobiles or sth like that, they might have it..

if not, u can always buy online...all u need is an international credit/debit card...there is a store called SGbest...here is the link... http://www.sgbest.com

check their site.their price is really good....they sell optimus one for USD 210+USD 50 for shippng to Bangladesh via FedEx/Ups....so total cost USD260 ~18000 tk
dont worry, they are not fake...i bought from them...

btw, i saw dipanzan u r worried abt the screen? well its just a techy difference, but wid naked eyes u cant make out any difference between a 256K screen and 16M color screen...yes if u put them side to side then u might notice a negligible difference...but u can checkout video reviews on youtube which shows the screen to b perfectly fine.personally i can run games like angry birds, fruit ninja on it and the visuals look bright and crisp and there are no visible differences when compared even with an iphone which has a fat better display

bro tell us ur budget...if budget is no limit then get the latest Motorola Atrix/HTC Desire HD/Samsung Galaxy S/LG Optimus 2x/3d
however, for most of us budget is the main constraint...so if ur budget is under 20K then same suggestion goes for u as dipanzan....if u can go above 20K and between 30K buy a Samsung ACE.....if ur over 30K DEFINITELY go for the HTC DESIRE....

lol.. i think u misunderstood. but i knw what u mean...normal samsung feature phones are crap, i agree.but here we are talking about samsung sets wid ANDROID...

    most welcome bro...
as for sound quality...its decent to say the least. u wont be disappointed i can assure u that much. tho stock headphones do the job...but u can always get a pair of better hps if ur an audiophile, lol. but they work for me...however, my N78's headphone was better as it had ear cushions.this one is bare plastic
loudspeaker is louder than my N78...and clearer. again it is just a mid range phone...if not entry level so u wont get that wow factor...but its good value for money at this price point

If you get Android, you'll be able to use the "app" to browse
