    Default World's first 1tb platter-by samsung

It wasn’t too long ago that 3TB
was just hitting the market and
    some people were probably
    boasting that you would never
    need that much storage space.
This is the same thing the guy
that sold me my first computer as
a kid said about the tiny HDD
    measured in tens of megabytes.
Samsung is marching on and has
    made those 3TB HDDs look
    downright small with a new
    breakthrough in areal density
with the ability to cram 1TB of
data on a single platter. This new
tech means that we can see 1TB
single platter HDDs on the thin
side of things and on full size
HDDs 4TB storage will be coming
    soon.
Samsung was mum on when we
might see the 4TB HDDs shipped,
but I would bet it would be this
year. The 4TB storage drives will
    fit into the Samsung EcoGreen
    series and will be 5400rpm
    offerings with 32MB of cache
    and 6Gbps SATA interfaces.
Samsung also offered up a very
    interesting little tidbit stating that
the tech it used would allow for
10TB drives with a bit of
    modification.

I have 1TB HDD but you can't download so many 50GB HD movies. Only 20 HD movies. (1000/50=20 HD Movies/1TB) = =" I may buy 4TB when it comes to the market

ar regardless whatever the size of the movie no one will be able to see the effect of 50GB blu ray until he/she watch it on 40+" HDTV.so,there is simply no point of having blu ray movies with that enormous size.
& to sunny today's motherboard controller doesn't allow more than 3TB of a single individual HDD to work with windows.so,i guess ur 4TB dream is way far

nop, actually the main purpose of 5400RPM drive is keep your backup data. & ya, it will be much safer if you keep your backup data on these drive. For gaming, ya you must need a 7200RPM drive. But for backup, 5400RPM is the best choice. Because of low RPM, those have the least probability of getting dead! & low noise, low chance of data corruption, etc!

Thank you for the information .So 5400 rpm isn't bad from some perspectives .But still am not clear on one thing.Suppose if i use one 7200 rpm hdd & one 5400 rpm hdd together then will it hamper my gaming experience. If it not then which one will i use as primary drive.7400 rpm one.Right :S?

ar regardless whatever the size of the movie no one will be able to see the effect of 50GB blu ray until he/she watch it on 40+" HDTV.so,there is simply no point of having blu ray movies with that enormous size.
& to sunny today's motherboard controller doesn't allow more than 3TB of a single individual HDD to work with windows.so,i guess ur 4TB dream is way far
