    Dont worry developers always have these overkill setups, I remember they used 7950GX2 quad config for the devolopment of crysis, IMO UE3 even in dx 11 wouldnt require that much horsepower, afaik GTX 560 should be plenty to play it in good detail

    BTw dont be expecting this level of detail on consoles, atleast not this gen anyway .

    Its not that impressive.
    atleast not to me. An engine is defined by more then textures and detail, no offense to anyone but UE3 is possibly one of the worst engines made ever by Epic games, they were so much better before, now after gaining popularity they have become very crappy, they still didnt fix the texture loading issues forever bugging this engine. :\

    It would be great if they could develop games offering visuals on par with the trailer, which I doubt they would.

    I don't like this engine mainly because of the low resolution textures used in the games featuring UE3. Plus, the textures keep loading right in front of my eyes even when I'm halfway through the game. They need to learn texturing from Metro 2033, it features high resolution sharp textures but loads only within a fraction of the time of UE3's loading time. Plus, I don't like the cheap depth of field effect they use in this engine, it looks really fake.

    Yes, it would be great to see games with that insane engine. It would take us one step closer to photorealism but wouldn't it be another Crysis? In fact, it would run even slower than Crysis did when it came out. And it uses a DirectX 11 exclusive graphics engine developed by Futuremark specifically for 3DMark 11, so there is almost zero probability of 3rd party games using this engine.

    The engine of 3DMark 11 is a benchmark engine and so was CryEngine 2

    @proton_chain yea....
    Hope, all that midrange 7xxx or 6xxgtx can handle it and games will see great jump in visual and destruction realism along with xbox720 and ps4 's arrival.

    I was about to say that the Pentium 4 was outdated as soon as it launched. xD
    The Pentium 4 made the Power5 line from IBM look green.
