if u r sure it's coming 4m hdd. then please stop using the hdd immediately. backup all the data as soon as possible & take it to the shop to claim warranty(i believe u do have warranty)
if hdd's ever sounds like that u mentioned it's probably something had gone wrong with header that reads & writes on disks.
so,don't delay back up all ur data asap first

Use S.M.A.R.T monitoring system to be sure, then follow the aforementioned suggestions.

Are you sure its the HDD, I have this weird noise which I have found is made by one of my casing fans, these thermaltake thunderblade suck.
Anyhow if your sure its the HDD get it RMA'd asap, I did have the same problem with a 3 year old PATA HDD, all I needed to do was defrag and scan the drive to fix the noise. Weird.
    FTW!!!!!!!!!!

yeah..im pretty sure its the hard disk..my fans are fine..i de fragmented my HDD but no luck, no bad sectors..scanned it.
Problem to claim the warranty is, the sound is too low to convince the shop guys .. i have a very sensitive ear, which i doubt is the case with them.

Default Re: High pitched sound coming from HDD..normal?

SHiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!! i just found out it isnt my Hard disk.. what happened is i was playing dead space..suddenly i noticed my CPU temp is 99 degrees.. i opened up my casing, while the pc was still running and found out the noise isnt from the HDD. most probably is from the CPU fan (the fan is still spinning though) ...or may be motherboard..im not sure.. im scared shitless..
the temp drops back to 42-44 @ idle..thats why i dint notice this earlier! i ll run prime95 now and post my temp soon.

I just ran The small FFT from prime the temp jumps up to 90s within seconds..

I also have a power converter cable connected to my motherboard from the PSU.. it might be the PSU as well..

Because when idling, i7 downclocks to almost nothing, consuming less power and generating VERY low heat.

No idea. But the main problem here is not the sound but the unusually high load temps. Agge CPU bachan tarpor sound nia chinta koren. Ar sound ta sunte parle valo hoto. Sahos kore kan ta casing er vitor dhukiye bojhar chesta koren exactly kotha theke ota ashe (shock khaben na jeno). Na parle porer step ta koshtokor (microphone lagbe), if you really want to get rid of that.

I won't place my bet on thermal paste as you are getting what you should with a "crappy" i7 8xx stock cooler. I used to get 90+ during hot summer days with IBT before I threw it to the garbage can and upgraded my cooler. As the ambient is not so high, 80 degrees with Prime95 seems quite OK. So, try upgrading to a better aftermarket cooler than trying to "fix" it using custom thermal compound.

Ya i read ur thread about the temps..
and about the aftermarket cooler.. i ve already considered about that..i have no problem to buy a trio coz i have some money in hand ryt now, but the only thing that s stopping me from doing that is- the sound was still on, when the i disconnected the heatsink fan.so there is a possibility that the problem is in somewhere else. may be the processor itself.. in that case wudnt it be too big a gamble for me to buy a trio for 4500 taka?

As my temps are back to normal, and have almost 2.5 yrs warranty left for everything..how about i wait for something conclusive?
