    Question Made In China

If you ever have googled anything like "XFX vs. Sapphire vs. Asus vs. Gigabyte, etc.", and have taken a look at some specific threads in sites like OCN or G3D, you might have noticed that many people have voted for XFX. Well, this is rare in Bangladesh, you must agree. A very few people like XFX products. Many of the users have at first bought some XFX product with much interest, liked the product for a year or two, and then, when the product died, cursed XFX. I'm not just talking about only XFX, but it can happen with other brands too. Mostly, XFX products in Bangladesh are reported of being non-durable and of poor quality.

Why bad quality? All are XFX!
Yes, all are XFX, that is what you, I, and most of the consumers know. But behind what we know, there is some little but intense information, that is, quality depends on product class.

As you might know, China has the largest population in the world, and production cost in China is very low. So, many companies have their factories in China. So, many products are manufactured in China, which are being exported all over the world. As a result, China controls a large proportion of the international market.

Let me give you an example at first. You might have seen fake N95 phones which you know are made in China. The ones that you might have seen come with touch sensitive screens, Dual SIM support, but do lack in some important features that the original phones have. But there are more fake types of the N95. One of the fakes is same as the original one, has all features, looks same, but the brand is NOKLA. Then come the other knock-offs, which lack in some features, and some features like touch-sensitive screen and Dual SIM support are added. I have seen a Chinese E66 which looks same as the original one, but lacks in some features. When you go to the WLAN menu, you see Bluetooth options. Same things occur over and over again. One type of product has different classes, sometimes they are made by different manufacturers, and sometimes by the same.

And now about computer parts. Open the side-panel of your chassis, and have a closer look at the PCB of the motherboard. You will definitely find somewhere written "Made In China", even if it is a Gigabyte, Intel, or Asus board. Take a look at your Graphics Card, you will find the same thing, "Made In China". Same thing is for Hard Disk Drives, and even Processors.

As I have already said, many companies have their factories in China. So, they manufacture their products in China, and export them to many countries, which include Bangladesh too. They might think about exporting lower class products to a Least Developed Country (LDC) like Bangladesh, or it can be like that another manufacturer is manufacturing knock-offs which our UCC is importing.

However, it is not like if you are a Chinese product, you are of bad quality. Most of the products are Chinese, but not 100% of them are of the lower class. And even if you have a bad quality Chinese product, and if you handle it with optimum care, you might have a good chance to be served well.

Now let's talk about XFX cards. It is somewhat clear to some of us that the XFX cards that are being imported to Bangladesh, belong to the lower class. And in USA, XFX provides DOUBLE LIFETIME WARRANTY, where in Bangladesh we do not get a warranty period of more than just TWO years. Isn't it something fishy?

Now a message to you, if you buy something with even a little amount of money, try to buy something that satisfies you, do not be convinced by flashy boxes of low class XFX cards, I am not saying that the BRAND XFX is low class, rather try to buy something that lasts longer.

P.S.: Well, I do not have Econ. in my O-Level subject, so could not use much sense of it in this post, but I wrote what I know, not what I heard. And if you think some information is wrong, please feel free to correct me. And I have tagged some of you who wanted to read something about this.

Thanks a million to @error for the awesome title.

This post contains just some information, and some personal opinion, from a very neutral point of view.

Neither did I, but the XFX GTX460, indicates something like either there is some other manufacturer, or anything else can happen. :/

@Dee Your topic got a point. But you should know one thing, All Chinese product are not that bad or poor quality. China produce same product in different quality based on price. In our country we used to get the lowest quality product because of our economic condition. Its actually our importers dishonesty as they get those product at lower rate but sale them at higher rate. As those product made for one time use we get less warranty or warranty of 2 years rather than lifetime warranty.

I once did search about the XFX 460, and people seem to think they are all sample cards. Apparently those cards register at their site as well for warranty, so it must be real.

Maybe @Mazhar bhai can help shed some light on these product classes.

Yes, that is the thing. To get a strong position in the international market, Chinese products are priced very low, and our importers are attracted to those. It depends upon price. They think that we will be satisfied by the average quality, as we always want to pay as low as possible. But the thing is always not the same.

regarding xFx 460. indeed all manufacturer even like saphire also make products like 460,480 just as a sample product.those products can't be utilize with any official nvidia driver or anything. idk why do they make but, they are made that's for sure.
& the i saw the 460 on a local china shop. yes it seems it's for asian region only. but,who knows maybe this time xFx it them self is bullshitting with us

Well people everywhere agree that the 460s are sample cards, so just leave it at that. But what about this Class C thing, is it written on every card? If so, where? I'm willing to look at my Palit 460 if I know where to look

I didn't find a single article regarding low class china products in the internet, but found alot about the XFX GTX 460's being real or fake All the searches came to a conclusion that, these GTX 460's do not have any performance differences, but in the long run, they do have durability issues. You never know, these might just be good.

Contract termination niye amar kono doubt nai, those 460s can just as easily be sample cards. Akta jinish kheyal hoilo, what if the cards UCC imports are refurbished products? Refurbs sell kora to allowed, I think I even saw Apple selling refurb iphones/ipods on their own site, http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals

Refurbs onek frequently e noshto hoi. X360 Zephyrs were refurbs of the orignal X360, which had an extra heatsink yet RROD'd just as much.
