Default New Command & Conquer on the way

new command and conquer is developed by victory games rather than EA los angeles. it is barely announced. i am really doubtful that a new developer can do justice to CnC brand. anyway good to see that this franchise is still alive.

Honestly, Im GLAD EA backed out. They created an abomination in the form of C&C4 man it was god awful after the classic C&C3.

Will it be C&C 5 or expansion for C&C 4? I wish Red Alert 4 to come next.

EA officially confirms new Command & Conquer project

Says to expect more details later this year

EA has confirmed that there is indeed a new Command & Conquer on the way from its new development studio, Victory Games.

Word of the news slipped out prematurely earlier this week when an official website with details on the studio and the future of C&C went live before being quickly taken down.

The relaunched website features an interview with Victory Games GM Jon Van Caneghem. In it he lays out the purpose and focus of the newly created studio.

"Victory Games was created to be the focal point for the creation of strategy games for the Games Label at EA. Our current focus is making a AAA Command & Conquer game, which I am very excited to be working on. I've always been a big Command & Conquer fan" says Caneghem.

"We have offices in Los Angeles, CA; Austin, TX; and Shanghai, China. It almost feels like one location though, as we have video conferencing systems setup 24/7 which offers us a stronger and more personal level of communication between offices."

When quizzed on the new C&C game Caneghem was vague, only confirming its existence and that it was a PC game.

"I can tell you it's a Command & Conquer game for the PC, but we're not yet at a stage where I can go into any details-we'll be prepared to make a more formal announcement later in the year".

He goes on to establish that the studio is also focused on creating a future for the classic real-time strategy series.

"Our general focus is on the future of Command & Conquer. That means updating a lot of the core technology to create a stable base for future development, and leveraging that work on this first game" he added.

"I want the fans to know that Victory Games is committed to bringing Command & Conquer back to the forefront for the next ten years and beyond"
