    Default 6970 vs 570gtx

    Pcgamer , see here>>

    http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...x-570-sli.html

    lost planet2, hawk2 r nvidia biased...pretty sure...
And i will suggest to see the results less than 50fps.above 50, nothing matters.
Take into account only the resolution u have intention to play in. I guess that is 1920x1080.
Also see the minimum fps that is equally important as avg fps.
    ---
my suggestion between 6970 and 570 is,
1.if u have intention to stick with single card, go 4 any1 of those.both r same .but, i guess u enjoyed phyx much with mafia2...and have great attraction with it.then go 4 570gtx.

    2.if u want to go to multi-gpu solution, go 4 6970 2gb of course.

    Best>>
1.buy powercolor 6950PCS+ (it is having one bios unlocked)
    2.or buy a non-sapphire reference PCB 6950 2gb and unlock it to 6970
and lower the memory frequency abit to make it stable longer.

    BUT,still it is risky a bit, isn't it? Get the PCS+ if u want 6950 2gb.

    I thought HAWX always favored ATI/AMD. HAWX1 was ATI's first sponsored game, HAWX2 is nvi's? :S

And why ignore anything above 50FPS, that much FPS makes the game so much better And I don't think 6950s are flashable anymore.

@Mohiuddin check this out. This card is designed by the manufacturer for a 6950 to 6970 unlock. Add one +(plus) with your powercolor 6950PCS+ and get the review of powercolor 6950PCS++

yea, in hawx 1 amd did good.
But, it is pretty sure hawx 2 is nv favoured.have any doubt?
About fps, above 50fps, all r same, a card giving 60fps and another 70fps ,will look same(may have some exception, having extraordinary eyes like flees)
cards having better fps, both within the 50fps, will give better gaming experience like 40fps and 35fps....
An example, cod black ops, getting 80~fps with 6970, 100fps~580= no difference,
but in metro, 30fps with 6970 and 35fps with 580, later will give u better experience....
    Still, reference 6950 r flashable.

Or you are used to 60+ FPS, and you can easily tell the difference. You don't need fly like eyes. Maybe you will be satisfied with <50FPS with these cards, but others/majority won't.

And I just checked, HAWX2 is nvi optimised. HAWX1 ATI sponsor korte parlo but 2 parlo na

u telling me, u don't get comfort in fps games with 50+fps?!!
Yea, racing games sometime feel the framing in 50fps with having always eye on searching framing rather enjoying the game.but i will say 50+fps is more than enough for racing games....

Yea, racing games sometime feel the framing in 50fps with having always eye on searching framing rather enjoying the game.but i will say 50+fps is more than enough for racing games....
The only thing I am saying is that not to ignore 50+ FPS. You said in the original post to ignore anything above 50, but why should a 570/6970 owner do that when what they are paying for is more than capable of 60+ FPS in most games.

@aayman_farzand what are the main reason choosing 6970 (let not considering phyx)? Assume the owner don not have the option to do CFX/SLI? 6970 has a whopping 2GB vram. But GTX 570 has only 1.25BG vram. Consider it is a long term investment. Will games required 2BG vram after 2-3 years?

The main reason for choosing 6970 would be speed.
I dont know what that benchmark suggest Ive spent a week simply looking at benchmarks before buying my GTX 580.
This is what I found .
    580>6970>570>6950

6950's can be flashed, although aayman suggested that it cant be anymore, but yeah 6950 is a great value card.
Besides you guys wont be playing everything maxed out.
    FTW!!!!!!!!!!

The 2GB will make the difference only when you play above (not at) 1920x1080, at res like 2560x1600. Thats where the 6970s truly shine compared to the 570. But by the time games start requiring 2GB RAM at lower resolutions, the 6970 will be too underpowered to run those anyway, so you will have to upgrade or of course, lower a few settings.

But anything below that res, the performance will be similar as you can already tell from the benches. 6970 wins some, 570 wins some. However when both cards perform similar, I personally prefer nvidia (no not because I own a 460) because nvi always has more sponsored games than AMD/ATI, they're driver support is great - no need to wait for monthly WHQLs, and of course, CUDA

Driver support niye akta jinish boli. BC2 came out back when I was using a 4890 (still a very capable card btw), but ATIs driver release were damn slow to implement optimisations for the game. The driver released 2 months later had BC2 optimisations, and I was already done with the game :/

Its because ATI/AMD insists on monthly WHQLs, and WHQL requires quite some time to be tested by Microsoft. So by the time BC2 released, a driver was already being evaluated by MS, which had no BC2 optimisations, and then after that release they began testing the drivers with the BC2 fixes and optimisation. Recently though there have been some fast hot fixes for games, so I guess the driver support won't be an nvidia advantage for long, if it still is by the way.

@Mohiuddin , and what I am saying is that you will have a difference practically which is why you shouldn't ignore it.

If you consider average framerate then this is true (580>6970>570>6950). But in recent reviews I found 570=6970 even 570 is given performence awerd
    http://www.hardwareheaven.com/review...onclusion.html
In lower resolution gtx 570 pulls ahead. See below that gtx 570 manage to get 4.3 framerate ahead in (lowest framerate). I always consider cards who are faster in loweast framerate.

@Mohiuddin considering 1600*900, seems that gtx 570 will give better performance, what you say?

haha, thats hardly a lead, 58.9 and 58 Minimum FPS is better though, but then again its Heaven, that doesn't full represent real world scenarios, though it is a lot better than 3Dmark scores and all that.

@aayman_farzand I always consider cards who are faster in loweast framerate. its as 4.3 FPS lead. While playing games, we will see difference in loweast framerate not in highest.
BTW: it is the in normal tess. What happened when in extreme tess? May be 6970 will give very low loweast framerate.
