    Talking Internet : Playing online

Well i am kinda happy to see you guys talking about taking on International players. But the first thing you guys need to have is a intra net that connects all the PCs to each other so that you guys can play with each other and gain more play time experiences, endurance is one thing you need to have when you want serious gaming. Seriously we need to focus on our Internet service which is currently the worst compared to our neighboring countries, i hope not. I believe there are potentials amongst you guys who can go out there an bit the best players. I saw UT on WCG, from what i learned , for begginers we can take the 2nd prize. From 1971 war you might say that past 40 years this country learned nothing. Well its not 1971 anymore, i noticed people who play games think different and learn fast. We are a new generation who are constantly changing and adapting to newer ideas. But we lack in one thing, UNITY. I wish someone would come up and unite the whole gaming society in this country through one single gaming net. I doubt our government would ever do that. Anyway i want you guys to see this. India is host its biggest Gaming competition. And the prize money is almost 1 Crore compared to our currency. I wonder how we are missing this even. Heres the link

    http://www.gameguru.in/events/2008/2...zero-friction/

My dream is to see something like this even more when WCG will be hosted in this country. For the time being i guess it will just be a dream. But some day i know, some day it will become a reality. And you guys will make it possible. I trust in all of you.

Oh by the way, the answer is yes. Not only you guys are good but you can also bit the hell out of the international players. But before that you guys need to compete amongst yourself 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.. And to do that the whole gaming society of this country needs to come under one gaming network. That would make practice much better. If not possible that way then increase the Bandwith to 1MB for each user. Sounds crazy? why ? other countries are getting more. And by year 2010 The net will witch to Internet 2.0 . I bet most of you haven't hard of it yet. Internet is said to give each user 200MB per second. And the price is not what you think but affordable as the service already indicate that peruser will get that speed. Funny we still don't have 1MB for a single user and to think of 1MB is like you have to be rich person to afford a connection like that. Geez. Internet 2.0 is already under progress in some countries as experiment. And within 3 more years it will become commercially available to everyone, sad not for us if we are to squabble with what we have now. Thank big think future that is all i request. OK i was tryin to get a link and this just freaked me out the heading goes like this "Internet2 Land Speed Record" what the hec man. We are stuck with KB speed and they are already competing with terabytes. 9.08 Giabits sent in one second!!!!!!!!! um Hello Bangladesh wake up call!!!! I think i will go sit down , i don't feel so good after reading that. Even tho they are experimental , you can have an idea what waits us in future, which is by the way 2 or 3 years><.

Kronos, what people in BD don't realize, we pay roughly $20 for internet in BD, and we get 32kB/s, where as abroad, you get 256 kB/s for $1, and for $20 you get 1mB/s. Lol.

LOL i love people pochafying me, it makes me happy when i see smiles on their face. Anywho i work in a company who's works are related to Water Purification (not the Wasa types LOL) most of our works are to construct or design water filtration plants, in short Swimming Pools Filtration Plants. We also Design them and supply and install anykinds of machine that are needed to fully run a swimming pool. Beside that we do other things as well and i can't type all the things here, just know that, My company knows how to think out of the box. Um Its a new idea and not everyone in this country does not knows about this business and its potentiality. Psst!! i am not supposed to say this but i will, the risks are mine, 8 years ago our company got an offer from a company, foreign DUH!!! to introduce Communication service, which you see Grameen is doing but still expensive. What the offer we got could have given you Connection speed upto 512 KiloBytes of line in a cheaper price and we also had all kinds of mobile service included in it. But sadly we could not go with the progress since the government at that time would not approve what we would try to do. By now you guys deserve to get 1MB speed of line if that project came to reality. I still fell sad when i thnink about it. Our own government is stealing from us and not letting us know what we deserve, or they don't know them selves. You see there is an Indian advertise where they tell you , "Why be satisfied with what you have, when you can have more if you wish and of course try for it" We have something to learn from that. People learn to demand, as a citizen of this planet and not only this country we should demand for what we need, just like the people of other nations. One of the reasons we fail to improve our lively hood is that even after 40 years after the war, we still did not learn to demand or did not realize that we have the power to do so and no one can stop you from demanding. Demand what you want, demand now, even if you don't get it today, someday you will or your grand children will. I promise you; a change will come soon, wait for it but don't sit and wait for it.

    Take care

I dont think we'll see consumer dedicated bandwidth anytime soon. The gov spent tk3000 crore to get the sub-cable installed, and IMO we wont unless they at least get half of it or assured that they will cover that amount within the next 2-3 years. I believe that they charged so much per Mb to ISP's initially with hopes that they could reach break-even sooner, and still plans to do so. But i'm worried that after the election, it might take even longer. Political parties will disapprove of the care-taker government's setup policies and might start charging more than 15K/Mb.

Btw, I'm not sure about this, werent there talks of ISP's guranteeing the gov tk2500 crore in the next five years?

Default Re: Internet : Playing online

First of all the amount 3000 crore, it is not the money of the government. Its the money of the people of this country, people who pay taxes. And according to the law, what tax you pay must come back to you, it can be in any forms. For example Highway development, or Property or Business, Or Drainage System for a large area, Power Sector, or in our case Communication. Its is the people who give the money to the Government as taxes and in return the government of that country does what the people wants, it is a continues cycle . SO charging more money from the people just because the investment was huge (3000 Crore) and forgetting the money was taken from the same people that provided it; is nothing but a bad policy and it will take longer time to get that amount back. If the government allowed lower price and more bandwidth; more people would be interested to use the service and different business would open and the exsiting ones would get the chance to expand more. You said it will take 3 years to get that investment back, i say it was possible in 1 year or less. But i guess the people who are in charge don't understand this fact or not that educated enough to do so. LOL reminds me of 1990 when someone said, that the Independence of this country would be at stake, WOW how stupid is that for the person who thought it up. Sadly people like that still run this country. I don't feel like talkin about it now. Just know this, what ever the government does, does so with your money, YES its YOUR MONEY!!!! the rest i keep for you all to figure out.

Think out of the box, oh and take care guys and remember one thing "Its your money and no one should pay twice for a service from the Government"

well the money doesnt go to teh gov only, but also to ministers, sweepers and janitors. Then there's also tax evasion. I think it was shown that 7% of the population actually paid taxes, so even if the gov wants to do something new, they wont have the money. I like your optimism, but lets be honest, BD is a ¤¤¤¤ed up country. There's nothing much good people can do here. The country gets foreign aids and end up buying luxury cars for Tarek Zia. We wouldnt have been in such a position if there were people from the care-taker government 10 years ago. But at least things are improving now, we can only hope for the best, and be thankful for what we have now

But at least things are improving now, we can only hope for the best, and be thankful for what we have now
it is ok as long as it does not deviate from Internet situation to overall political situation and political bashing.
