    Default NVIDIA gtx560ti vs 6950 1gb AMD

with the perfection of 40nm fabrication ,the BATTLE is getting harder and harder.
AND with the gt5xx series ,it seems that NVIDIA is back, after a long miserable hibernation.....
    -------------------------------------------------------
lets see,as a single card, what it can give.....first lets look at those cards..
    asus

    evga

    gigabyte

    msi

    ------------------------
    now the benchmark.........

    3dmark 11

    avp

    badcompany2

    dirt2

    MATRO2033

    unigine 2.1

    high resolution.high anti-aliasing.high image setting.

    -------------
    source
    ----------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------
now lets see, what it can do in sli configuration..

    performance summary

as these graphics cards r mainly of enthusiast levels, i chose 1900x1080 resolution as standard ,and i excluded those games that is suspected to be of biased coding and also those faulty and less demanding(graphically) games...
it seems that in those synthetic benchmarks they scale awesome in sli... ,but in games it is not so bright.
    ---------------------------
    source
    -------------------------------------
all pictures r the responsibility and claim of respective reviewers .....of the sources.not me
    -----------------------------------------
yea, though in sli 560ti is not that amazing, but in single,it competes amd's new 6950 1gb very very well.
and can easily oced to be 950mhz.but if u r lucky, u may oc it to 1ghz....

Well, except Dirt 2 the 6950 is ahead in almost every case in the hardware canucks website. Still, its within 5% and both are equally great cards.

    Thanks.
And, I don't care about DiRT 2, as it's not a power hungry game.

Judging the performance of Metro 2033, Aliens vs. Predator, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat, Unigine Heaven v2.0 -- all using highest features of DX11 (Tesellation, etc.), max graphics, maxing out other things (like: amount of crowd/vehicle etc.) 1920x1200/1080, 4x/8x AA, 8x/16x AF, Vsync on/off will be enough, IMO.

However, I want more compitition and the prices to go down!

    ---------- Post added at 00:43 ---------- Previous post was at 00:31 ----------

6950 1GB creates more noise and consumps more power. That's where Nvidia rocks most of the times.
    What's the price difference btw ? :S

well the gtx 560 ti stock is a good gpu in its price. Also hd 6950 1gb. They compete well with each other. Bt if u can buy a 250 usd gpu why not buy the gigabyte gtx 560ti soc at 274 usd? 24 usd aint much. N giga soc again if u oc it, it beats gtx 570 stock n sumtimes on par while keepin things under control... Its best amongst all gtx 560 n in its price.

frm da reviews gig soc oc is competing with hd 6970 n 570. Not 6950. Even the stock soc fights with 570 in most. Performing not only 1-2 fps bt 5-10 faster. Link er Review ta dekhlei bujhben mohiuddin vai. Da gig soc in almost evry game beats a gtx 570 stock. N loses to 1-10 fps with hd 6970. Now u can oc da 6950 bt cant get performane of that level. N aro akta jinish say buy a gtx 560 stock n oc it 1ghz. N that wont keep things under control which the gig soc does. So i dnt see any point of buying stock gtx 560 or hd6950. Seriously. Soc in stock beats 570 n when oced beats or on par with 6970.

Nope, 6950 properly overclocked matches 6970. Take any 6950 with voltage tweak and it will hit 900+. At ~920 it will be about equal

Also, what do you mean by overclocking a 560 to 1ghz will not keep things in control? That depends on how well you can test for stability at those speeds. Some of the GTX560's do hit 1ghz stable with voltage tweaks, though I do agree that not all do and you get a guaranteed overclock with the SOC

thats wat i mean. Many will not want to oc their gpu. 1ghz stock soc with 2yrs warranty. Isnt dat da best deal by addin 20 usd only?n get performance like 570. N about stablity. I ve seen few getting 1000/5000mhz. Bt again noise heat power may rise. Dats wat i mean abt keeping things under control.

According to EVGA Product Manager Jacob EVGA GeForce GTX560 Ti SuperClocked hits 1050MHz ! You can see below that 3DMark 11 scales appropriately with the increase in clocks. He use EVGA E-LEET Tuning Utility to increase vcore voltage to 1.14375V.

Isn't PC gaming dead?! So why do we need more new cards?! Then is it for other purposes?

Yeah, I see your point and I agree that for non-overclockers the SOC is a great option. But for overclockers, you can just save $20, get a DirectCUII or something, overclock it and achieve similar results. Point still stands, for overclockers the 6950 1GB and 560 are equally as good but nothing beats 6950 2GB. But for non-overclockers, GTX560 offers more options due to vendors offering cards overclocked to a higher speed. ATI add in board vendors usually take more time to release heavily overclocked cards though..

Dont derail the thread. PC gaming isnt dead and hopefully never will be. But thats another topic so lets not go there.

I dont trust hardware canucs :/.
Anyhow as the 6950 can be made to a 6970 with a simple bios update, 6950 = win.
Im no fanboy here, I myself am using a GTX 580, but AMD has priced their cards well and given the fact that 6950 is now only 250 dollars and it can be modded to run faster then a GTX 570.

Well the only place they go beat is tesselation and perhaps physx in "1 or 2" games.
Physx doesnt mean to most people anyway so tesselation is where AMD have lagged behind.

The physical hardware aspect of PhysX/CUDA aren't features that get "turned on" and cause the card to draw additional current. They are parts of the core that are already active and already always on even if not being utilized in software due to how they are built into the core's processing units itself. Only a small part of each shader group is devoted to processing them, so in Physx/CUDA related tasks it won't amount to anything more than what the card uses for full 3D gaming
