    Sapphire 6850 1GB Stock Clocks @ 17k, AFAIK.
    XFX GTX 460 1GB Stock Clocks @ 15.5k (sure)

    ---------- Post added at 14:12 ---------- Previous post was at 14:11 ----------

Be sure that XFX will go down after 2 years, 90% guaranteed.
But, Sapphire doesn't have any problem(s).

    ---------- Post added at 14:17 ---------- Previous post was at 14:12 ----------

6850 is clearly faster than GTX 460 1GB (in stock clocks), in current games.
But, there's good chances of the 460 to perform better in newly released games, as AMD drivers needs time to be optimized for newest games, it also offers PhysX & better Tesallation support.

6850 needs lower power than 460, both in load and idle. But, 460 gets less hot and creates less noise.
And, in BD, it seems that 460 is cheaper... but it's XFX, and everyone should stay away from XFX if they plan to run the GPU for more than 2 years.

    So, it's u'r call.

I think the Gigabyte 6850 will be a good choice if found within 15-16k, so yeah you can go for it once available in smart. I like the dual cooling wind force too

The design of Winforce looks great also seems to be quieter then reference design. How about MSI's cyclone cooler, its also tends to be quiet even on load.
