Default rage - will it be a success or fail miserably?

from watching the screenshots, i can understand that it has a lot of similarities with Borderlands. So as a fps do you think it can overcome the rpg Borderlands or the hype created around this. personally i dont think it can do. first of all what came in my mind is why did EA give up the publishing rights. it is a very unusual thing to do for EA. might be they didnt think it could be successful. secondly, new tech. although id software is working for new tech design for last 7 years, it is obvious that this game will ship with plenty of bugs. no new engine is perfect at the launch time. thirdly, it's an FPS. Borderlands was not graphically awesome but its rpg elements and superb storyline with humor made it GOTY. i's quite impossible for rage to compete in all this sections. besides rage is a huge game. somewhere i read before that uncompressed rage data is over 100gb in size. so it will be quite hard to fit in 1/2 dvd for xbox. may be by reducing the resolution or whatever way, it will be possible for xbox 360 but for pc? these are my opinions. what are your thinking guys? are you interested in RAGE?

It wasn't a GOTY, but 2k released a 'GOTY Edition', which contained all the DLC's & latest patches.
