It's true the serious sam games are bit repetitive but still those are enjoyable to me .In serious sam 2 I had to kill 1000 monsters in the last level

A big monster with a bigger gun

Croteam has released the first Serious Sam 3 screenshot via its Facebook page, showing a big monster with some even bigger guns.

The developer's referring to the third game as 'Serious Sam: BFE', but it's not telling fans what the initials stand for yet.



So far speculation has pointed to 'Before First Encounter', given that the original game was called 'The First Encounter' - though based on this picture of a big monster, we'd imagine there probably are some encounters.

Another suggestion is 'Battle For Earth', as you can clearly make out some Arabic writing on the wall in this screen, suggesting the third game takes place on our rock.

Croteam promised there'll be more details on the game later today.

New Serious Sam 3 screens show off massive enemies


Croteam and Devolver Digital have released a few new screenshots for Serious Sam: BFE and - as with pretty much everything else we've seen from the game - they feature big guns and big monsters.

A few of the nasties the screens show include a huge desert insect, alongside a conveniently placed helicopter which handily shows off the scale of the monster and an overweight rocket-launcher equipped enemy that fans will recognise from previous titles.





The game is a prequel to the original title and takes place during Earth's final struggle against the invading alien legions. It's set against the collapsing temples and crumbling cities of 22nd century Egypt.

Serious Sam 3: BFE release date announced
PC arcade-style shooter drops in October





The arcade-style shooter will arrive on PC on October 18.

"We believe Serious Sam 3: BFE is the best Serious Sam game we've ever made," said Davor Hunski, "chief creative guy" at developer Croteam.

"We've designed a true arcade-style FPS game with the non-stop brutal action the series is known for and our fans have loved for the past decade."

The title is available for pre-order on Steam, Get Games and other digital download services with a ten percent discount, plus an additional ten percent off for people who already own a Serious Sam title on Steam.


Pre-orders will also net you a timed exclusive Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker multiplayer avatar for use in-game.
