    Default Laptop display totally gone, how to use external monitor now?

    My friend bought a cheap branded laptop two years back, temped by the price config ratio. Ultimately he had to pay for it, the display was dead as soon as the warranty was over..now is there a way to use external monitor with it? please note that the display is totally gone. i cant manually set it to External monitor, coz i cant see anything at all. Pls suggest.

    ofcourse there is.
    check if this laptop has a VGA port. If there is VGA port then he can use it with any monitor that has VGA port.
    a VGA cable would be needed nonetheless.

    Usually the external monitor requires a key combo press to activate.....usually Fn+some other key...

    look into it.....pressing that will enable video..
