Default Need suggestions for buying a ''CPU'' urgent

One of my friend is willing to open a Gaming Zone soon and has asked me for specifications (only CPU) within a budget of 35,000 - 40,000, as i am noob at these stuffs, i was sure that this is the best place i could get a better idea. The lower the better. He doesnt want to run those games that require imba graphics, but has targeted mainly lan games like DOTA, CS , CSS, COD and single player games such as FIFA and NFS (latest versions). Keeping all these things in mind, i would request as many suggestions as possible from by Banglagamer friends. It is a bit urgent please let me know soon thanks.

That explains little. What graphics card is he gonna use and what resolution will it run the game at? I think he should go for Core 2 Duos for a budget build. They are very low in price nowadays. Then he will buy a compatible motherboard and 4 GB DDR2 RAM (2GB if running XP and if the budget is low). For those games, ATI Radeon HD 57xx graphics cards should be more than enough, even at 1920x1080 resolution. And I am not gonna recommend quad cores as that will only waste his money. These games will not fly with quad cores. Rather, a fast Core 2 Duo (2.5GHz+) should be enough for these.

There is a gamezone in Uttara (Digital) which ran C2D 2.5 GHz | 8800GT 512 MB | 2GB DDR2 RAM the last time I visited (1 year, maybe). And those games ran fine at almost maximum settings @ 1280x1024 (except COD, which lagged a bit).

This one should do. There are Thermaltake Litepower models in the sub 500W range which will serve your purpose well.

But there are things to worry about. As he is gonna build a gaming zone, small changes in amount will be multiplied to create a large number. Things depend on whether

    • He is gonna install UPS or not (~3000 increase)
    • He will use better quality mouse and keyboard or stick to the cheapest ones (500-1500 increase)

For a gamezone, headphones will also be needed. Then comes the question ... "How good should that be?"

    Not in this case.

If you want a cheap PSU, go for Delux 450W. But Delta/TT is better.

He did not post in this thread

    The budget is 36000-40000, but Dee's specifications + Monitor (8200) + Headphone (300) + Mouse & Keyboard (1000) = 41000.

It is only 1000 more per machine. But if you really want to cut it down, then ONLY change the GPU. HD 5750 (not sure, maybe ~10k) or HD 5670 (~7-8k) would bring down the budget under 40k. It will sacrifice performance only a little, but will not be noticeable (@ 1365x768). The games you mentioned will run fine on all these GPUs, even UT3 will run fine (if installed). Do not invest less on CPU as on competitive LAN games, CPU power will play a larger role than the GPU. Weaker CPUs will cause framerate spikes on heavily crowded multiplayer matches, ruining the experience. But a bit weaker GPUs will provide stable framerate (even if it comes lower than 60 fps), that's what everyone will love to see.

yah...... for 1366x768(dx9/dx10) & for those games the performence difference between 5770 & 5670 would not even noticeable........ hd5670 will also reduce psu cost(deluxe 450W @ 1.5k should enough)
