Default Suggestion needed for buying a midrange gaming PC

My cousin wants to buy a PC. He is a beginner level user, so I am going to recommend a mainstream configuration for him.

Now I am confused about which configuration to suggest him.

    CPU: Core i3 540 @ 3.06 GHz - 8600.00
    RAM: 2GB DDR3 - 2150.00
    Motherboard: Any H55 (Gigabyte preferred) - 7000.00
    PSU: TT Litepower 500W - 4300.00
GPU: Any HD 5750 (Sapphire preferred) - 11000.00 (too high price given by UCC)
    Casing: Any (He will choose)-----------------------------------
Speaker: Any (He will choose) 6000.00 (Combined)
Keyboard: Any (He will choose) ------------------------------
    Mouse: Any (He will choose)------------------------------------
Hard disk drive: Samsung 500 GB - 2900.00
    Optical disk drive: Asus 24x R/W - 1750.00
    Monitor: Viewsonic 18.5" - 8200.00
    UPS: 800VA - 3100.00

or this package - 1 below

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
Processor l MSI AMD 880G Chipset
    Motherboard l 500GB HDD l Transcend
    / Silicon Power 2GB DDR3 RAM l
Viewsonic 18.5" TFT LCD Monitor l
    DVD-RW l Lexma Keyboard
Lexma Mouse l Thermaltake V3 Chassis
with 430W Power Supply (package costs 43950.00) plus HD 5750 and a Speaker.

or this package - 2 below

AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor l MSI

    AMD 760G Chipset Motherboard l
    1TB HDD l Transcend / Silicon Power
    2GB DDR3 RAM l Viewsonic 18.5" TFT
    LCD Monitor l DVD-RW
Lexma Keyboard l Lexma Mouse l
    Thermaltake V3 Chassis with 430W
Power Supply (package costs 38400) plus HD 5750 and a Speaker.

You might need to keep in mind that -

    • He is a noob
    • He will not overclock, at least within 4-5 years
    • He will not upgrade soon
    • He plays GTA Vice City and San Andreas (and will play modern games )
    • I am asking as AMD products are new in BD and I am not sure about how they are priced compared to Intel. So, I cannot suggest anything instantly as I can do with Intel.
    • I did not use any AMD setup before, but reviews I have read tend to give slightly more performance boost to AMD setups than i3 540. But i3 has very low power consumption.
    • I am giving him a more powerful CPU than a more powerful GPU as he will not upgrade soon. When he will say "vaia game atkaia chole kano?", I will simply tell him to buy a much powerful GPU, and I do not want the rest of the PC to hold him back.

His budget is ~50000.00. I think these configuration will almost fit within his budget. Now help me decide.

A simple but modern dual core processor, 500GB Hard Disk space, 2 GBs of DDR3 RAM and a decent graphics card would be enough to get his gaming going. You're suggesting Viewsonic 18.5 inch. Whats the native resolution?

Oh yeah I'd opt for the Intel one cuz Im not very familiar with AMD products. Also the 5770 is better than the 5750.

I wanted to give him a C2D setup, halving down the price premium but see the last point in "You might need to keep in mind that -" section which explains why I am going for powerful CPUs than to invest on 5770 or 5850. Also, even though AMD CPUs are quad core, they are similar to i3 540 in terms of price. That is why I got confused.

I read somewhere in this forum that HD 5770 is 11500.00. Why the hell did UCC ask for 11000.00 for HD 5750? It should be less than 10000.00.

It's my cousin's problem. Can anyone help with my problem?

Gigabyte 5770 11500.00 sure? I am in trouble as I was so busy for last two months that I lost synchronization with the current market. So, I have to rely solely on my guesswork.

Now help me decide.
    if he can spend enough,
amd phenom2 x4 955be(as he is noob, oc is gonna be easy with be),
    asus gtx460 1gb-~16k.
    760g msi.

    Or,

    with a tight package,
    1.lower priced msi mobo ~4k
    2.athlon 2 x4 640 3ghz ~8.7k
    3.gpu gtx 460 1gb.~16k

Default Re: Suggestion needed for buying a midrange gaming PC

He bought the system ages ago... Thanks for your all your contribution anyways. And @Mohiuddin ; I wouldn't give him a BE as that is a COMPLETE waste of money as a noob is not going to OC (I doubt he ever heard of that term, LOL). And GTX 460 is not worth the price for him. He will just game, and AMD is good for him. But I actually do need an Nvidia next time, as GPGPU computing is important to me.
