Would you like to buy a second-hand processor? If yes, you can get a Q8400 within 9k. And if you want to buy a new one, you can probably get E7500 or higher within your budget.

Yes you will able to play modern games in decent settings with PDC E5000/E6000 series .

IMO buy E5400 (4.8k) as you have tight budget. Then sell your 8400gs @ 1.2k.After selling your gpu you will have money around 5.5k.Then add 500 tk if you want to buy Nvidia.9600 gt or add 2k if you want to buy ATI 5670.

AFAIK there is no PDC which has 4 mb cache :S but 1066FSB bus PDC is available .You can get E5600 (2M Cache, 2.93 GHz, 1066 FSB) which will cost 5.8k.

actually it is e6500 (not e5600)......e7500 will be a waste of money.e6500 performs same as e7500 http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

Dee nd arif69 vhai both gave good option.but if u hav a later wish nd chance 2 upgrade later, then don't buy gfxcard now.upgrade cpu as ur mobo supported cpus willn't reduce price anymore significantly...buy a second hand q8400 4 ~9k.then buy a gfxcard 2 ~3 month later...who knows u may get a new 5770 with 9k!but u then will need a good psu atleast ~3.5k...if u want a more cheap solution...then go 4 5670gigabyte(7k or more less -later) or a 5570(a good solution in price braket)...

2 of my friends hv pdc. their pdc perform just a little bit better then my celeron. and my other friend has e7500. its performing realy good. three of them are suggesting me to by c2d. pdc after six month goes realy slow. buying a 2nd hand intel is not processor a good thing. as it reduces performace day by day. its the last intel processor i m buying. so i m realy warrried. after this processor i will buy amd. amd is far better then intel.
i have decided to by e7500 or e7600. but e7600 is out of market may be. dont u guys think e7500 is the best option if just want to buy a processor??? do i need additional power supply? i hv builtin which is given wid the casing(2.2k).

Older pentiam D/dual core processor had 512kb/1mb L2 cache and fsb max 627/800 mhz....e6500 and e7500 have almost same in specification.......... e7500 has only 1 extra L2 cache but e6500 is newer tech....e7500 came with c2d brand as it is more power efficient(not faster)...... and other thing is that cpu never lose it's speed day by day it can be bottlenecked by other hardware/os

Wink Re: processor with in 9k

I finaly have bought cpu. its e6500. and also a 9600gt(256bit) a 600w(fortex) psu. thx to ARIF vae.
