Question Price of Core 2 Duo Processor

I wanna know the current price of Core 2 Duo E7400 & E7600.

Need to upgrade my old CPU. Really stuck between these two with my tight budget.

You can also go for dual core E5000 or E6000 series if you have a tight budget. Those are also good budget processors .By the way your rig & my rig is a bit similar .

buy PDC E6500 its 5.8k and gives performance at the same level of e7500
there is no difference in this pdc and c2d series, except c2d has 1mb of extra l2 cache.

take a loot at high end cpu charts also:

I have used E5200,E5400,E7200,E7400.And believe it or not practically there was not a huge difference in PDC processors & C2D processors. That's why I have sold my C2D & now using PDC.C2D is better in performance but fails in price performance ration against PDC.Now it's up to you whether to choose PDC or not.

IMO buy PDC E5400/E6500 & also add 2 gb ram with the rest of money.Right now the price of ram is quite low .

as for the tight budget, I would go for E5400, its a good overclocker. i,ve oced my sis's pc at 3.4ghz

in my advice i would say get the E5400 and oc it at 3.2 ghz

and if don't wanna overclock get the E6500. only 1000tk higher...

I can't overclock. My mobo doesn't support overclocking. It's locked.

And I came to know E6xxx series are great overclockers. And by the way what about E6800? Is it any good?

Default Re: Price of Core 2 Duo Processor

E6800 has 0.4Ghz higher clock then E6500. but all other features are same.
as you wouldn't able to overclock, you should get the higher clocked processor you can. (as Arif69 said--- considering the price difference)
