Thread: Tight performance budget build

  1. #1

    Question Tight performance budget build

Time for a new budget build with some restraints on specific areas. Suggestions would be much appreciated!

Building the P.C based upon following factors :
    1. Overall performance (Not entirely for Gaming , but then again it does have a HUGE influence on this build )
    2. Seed box.
    3. SOHO Server.
I don't want to empower some specific component of this build over another but want it to be balanced (price performance ratio must be awesome then again )
My PC part picking cart as I state :

    Processor : Intel Core i5 4590
    Motherboard : Asus Vanguard B85
    RAM : 2*4GB DDR3 1600 MHz (Didn't decide the brand yet)
    SSD : Intel 530 120GB
    HDD : 1TB WD Blue
Graphics Card : Sapphire ATI Raedon 270X Dual OC
Power Supply : Cooler Master G650 Watt
Sound Card : Not decided yet, max budget 7500 BDT though.
    Casing : Cooler Master N200 (Yes ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ that's right!)
    Monitor : Asus MX239H
    UPS : 2000VA Power Guard
Surge Protector : Belkin Ultimate 8
CPU Cooler : Cooler Master TX3

    Any suggestions?

Suggestion : 1. Don't go for Intel 530, it's really slow. But then again the reliability is priceless, ( It won't die easily) (your build looks TUF ). I would suggest if you can get 730. or Samsung 850 Pro. ( you don't have to compromise speed) .
    2. I would Up my GPU to 280X at least.
    3. Go for CM V650 ( It's really worth it and reliability is awesome) (PSU)
    4. N200 !!!!! wait for N600. (then compare price before buying)

I would up my RAM a Bit 2X8GB will be secure for future.

    1. Intel 730 has no 120GB version yet !
    2. GPU is out of budget
    3. I am getting the N200, G650, and TX3 for a bundled price at 12000 BDT, seems like a good offer on my point of view.

    1. I knw. But Why do you need 120GB!!!! Is there is a prob in 240GB (or it's just price issue ??) . Even, then samsung 850 Pro is solid choice, 128GB, I guess. Intel 530 is slow compare to others out there, (but reliable).
    2. Sorry.
    3. It's good offer. BUt N200 is really compact. even for a mATX case. ( I haven't seen one personally though, so I could be wrong. Apologies in adavance if I'm wrong)
And V650 (actuallly the VSM and V series) has one of the best build and reliability in the world right now.

Get i5 4460 instead of i5 4590 and put the extra money into GPU.

Getting 1" larger monitor for 10k extra is highly inefficient imo(the price is only 15-20$ extra in international market, but BD govt tax higher for monitors over 22"). Get a VX229 and put the extra money into GPU as well and suddenly you have enough money for R9 290.

That i5 will save me a mere 500 BDT then my present spec, and getting that monitor for its better anti-ghosting capabilities then the VX model.
Any suggestions on the sound card and RAM?

I need suggestions for a Sound card and RAM!
For sound card, I don't know if you have decent sound system. Otherwise it's a waste of money.
If you have a decent 5.1- 7.1 channel sound sytem (speaker or Home theater). Then you can tell the difference easily between on-board audio and sound card.

A decent sound card would be : Asus Xonar DSX (not DGX one) . or Creative Audigy Rx. (decent audio card with good price)
I can't confirm you about their availability in Bangladesh .

-> -> ANy sound card with C-media CM8888 chip, or soundcore3D or asus AV100 chip, would be decent.

RAM- simply put buy the smallest latency possible (As you decided 1600MHz BUS speed), If the same latency- buy the one looks good or cheapest.
    - Samsung and Hynix usually makes RAM (memory chips) - companies like corsair,G.Skill,Avexir - designs the PCB and heatsink and customizes (OC and modi) to get the BUS speed and latency.

    - SO any decent company RAM is good. ( there're some korean and chinese cheap RAM- avoid them, as people have no idea what chip are they using).

SSDs are coming (good SSDs) in BD within next 1-2 month. Binary logic told me (last week) they may bring 850 pro or evo smaller size. (They brought a 1TB for Server users) . Nothing about 730 though .
