take i3 4150+H81 mobo and put the extra money into GPU, something like GTX 960/R9 285.

How about cpu intensive game? Then i3 will struggle. He should get a quad as he said he won't be upgrading anytime soon.

directx12 promises to use cpu more efficiently reducing bottlenecks with gfx cards.

anyways quad core like i5 would be better for the long run

There's only a handful CPU-bound games. Lot more games will struggle because of FX-6300's low single thread power and lower tier GPU.

True, i3 is still enough for med/high settings gaming but for how long?

I am not suggesting anything (amd/intel) but the op should consider his upgrade path as both the cpu will struggle (in some cases amd, other cases intel).

To be honest within 60k quad based decent gaming rig is hard to built imo. If he does take the i3 route he will save around 4-4.5k, which can be used for a better gpu (270/270x) but he will also need a better psu.

I think long enough, as @Ahnaf_i7X bro pointed out DirectX 12 will make games less demanding on CPU.
    Corsair VS450 can run R9 270x handily, but I suggested GTX 960/R9 285.

no matter what don't take a dual core CPU, stretch your budget a little bit and take an i5 4460, and 6300 is a good chip too.

Why buy an expensive casing? Just get something like Tt or Gigabyte, Corsair are really expensive

If you can just get a Haswell i5 and a B85 mobo from MSI or Gigabyte
