Well there are some really nice highly overclocked 460s available now, get those instead of 6870.

6870 brother. An OC 460 may be as powerful as a reference 6870 but you OCed your cpu so I am sure you can OC your 6870 thus making it more powerful than OCed 460 .

Check out the conclusions of these reviews if you are confused.
    http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon...0-6870-review/
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/3987/a...idrange-market

And if you have a budget then 6850 is a decent choice.
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/4002/a...p-asus-xfx-msi

At the end of the day both gtx460 1GB and hd6870 are awesome cards. You can just get the one that is cheaper if you want. There are no mistakes here.

I personally don't want to post links from newegg because from which company to buy is a personal preference.

By the way, no need to update your cpu now, wait till sandy bridge comes out next year.

Go for GTX 460 OC.U will love to see nvdia logo starting of some greatly anticipated games(CRYSIS2,BATMAN:ARK..CITY) And taste the PHYSX also....
People should stop blaming games for allegedly *copying* each other: "oh this game is Skyrim copy", "this game is WoW knock off", "this game is just another DMC" - enough!

On this rate every 3rd person action will be God of War, every 3rd p shooter Gears, every 1st will be CoD.. it's ridiculous. They are called genres people! And if you look carefully you'll see allot more than mimicry out there.

HD 6870. Overclock it and a GTX460 simply cant match it when it comes to performance. Only choose the GTX460 if you think you will benefit from PhysX considerably.

Want a overclocked GTX460 vs a overclocked HD 6870 comparison? Here.

You might want to get a cheap 40/80/90 GB SSD (based on either an Intel or Sandforce controller), a PSU, a cooler, a keyboard, maybe a motherboard and processor too for cheap, some nice Phenom X6 deals going on in newegg and some other websites, check them out.

    thanks for everybody's suggestion.

Maybe gpu anabo as it is the only thing that can bring dramatic and noticeable performance difference.
