GIGABYTE Announces Core Prime Overclocking Contest on HWBOT

    Holiday Wprime Showdown

TAIPEI, Taiwan – November 3, 2010 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co., Ltd, a leading manufacturer of motherboards, graphics cards and other computing hardware solutions today announced a new overclocking competition in conjunction with HWBOT.org called the Core Prime Contest.

The holidays are quickly approaching, so GIGABYTE thought we’d give you a break from forcing down Aunt Bertha’s fruitcake surprise with our latest GIGABYTE Core Prime contest. For the next 6 weeks (Nov 1 ~ Dec 18), submit your top Core Wprime scores to HWBOT for your chance to win a GIGABYTE X58A-UD7, GIGABYTE X58A-UD3R, or GIGABYTE H55N-USB3.

This competition consists of 6 stages including 6 Core Wprime 32M & 1024M, 4 Core Wprime 32M & 1024M, and last but not least 2 Core Wprime 32M & 1024M. You will receive points for getting into the top 10 of each stage, and the person with the most points at the end wins. The more submissions you make, the better your chances, so get out there and start benching. Let’s be honest, your stomach and teeth will thank you in the end, and you may just walk away with a brand new GIGABYTE motherboard. Good luck everyone!

As HWBOT is hosting this event, HWBOT submission rules apply.

dont have to fry...just see how far can you go...

without insane overvolting and sub zero overclocking no processor dies that easily...

    ---------- Post added at 22:26 ---------- Previous post was at 22:24 ----------

    again...

    FSB set to 230 MHz

    Cpu: 2989.8 MHz

    Ram: 920 MHz at 5-5-5-18

    32M and 1024M:

P.S: cant OC farther from BIOS for some reason...used Easy Tune 6 for this...

    ---------- Post added at 22:57 ---------- Previous post was at 22:26 ----------

    again...

    FSB set to 260 MHz

    Cpu: 3380.1 MHz

    Ram: 866.6 MHz at 5-5-5-15

at last...bested the guy before me...

    Bus at 290 MHz

    FSB at 1160 MHz (290x12.5)

    ram at 773 MHz

and Proc voltage at BIOS: 1.30625v

    32m and 1024m:

and the sad news...i think i have reached the OC potential for my MOBO proc combo...

and temp is not te prob....at this speed it doesnt reach 70C......but stability is.....i can reach desk top at 3.75 GHz....but wprime 1024m results in blue screen everytime...even increasing the voltage to 1.35v doesnt matter...
also my mobo does not have fields for PLL/GMH/IOH/termination voltage controls....so this is it guys...

Why can't I overclock more than 3763 MHz? whenever I increase 1 Mhz to CPU BCLK boot fails, even at auto CPU Vcore.
Can anyone tell me whether its Motherboard problem or RAM?
